Where do we think Ben Banogu is going to be drafted, right now I see him being mocked later 3rd early 4th. If that is the case could we draft safety with the 2nd and 3rd and use our two 4ths and go up to get a Ben Banogu to be the RE.

He doesn’t look like an edge rusher to me. Half of his success was on inside twists, so I don’t think he knows what’s he’s doing coming off the edge.

Might be best suited in a 3-4.

At 6'3 250 he's an edge player.

If we were to draft Tell I’d wager Richard would try him at corner first:

Might try too, and I have no doubt he could do it but I think he would be a tremendous FS he can come downhill and hit but he also has insane athleticism to go cover a lot of field and make plays on the ball which we've been lacking for quite sometime.

Guy looked super smooth running the 40 in 4.36, great fluidity in the hips, good cover guy & ball hawking safety. High IQ player who loves the game. Some worried about his lack of height or tackling in the box, sure looks good to me (I didn't see it all) . At 5'10 he may lack some height but what is Earl Thomas? Darnell says "He makes up for his lack of height with heart".

Savage had a great Senior Bowl and Combine, originally projected 3-4 round pick. His stock must be rising probably going to go late 2nd round early third. Eagles showing interest

You have to sacrifice something with players available at #58.

I'm OK sacraficing some size/length for all of his positive attributes.

His instincts seem best in/near the box but his size is more FS than SS with modern Strong Safeties needing to matchup up against TEs.

He has similarities to Xavier Woods.

Woods is a great comp IMO.I think he’s basically a faster version of Woods with more range.

So undersized S prospect with solid coverage skills, but poor tackling technique/ability.

I really do like him as a FS option, just not at 58. I’m targeting a top 50 talent there, and he’s a 3rd round prospect IMO.

It's funny, I just finished watching two games of Savage and the first comp that came to my head was Xavier Woods. Lamarcus Joyner is another player that came to mind. Great minds think alike ITT.

He looks much more comfortable in coverage than Juan Thornhill. His instincts, speed, and ball-tracking are all top notch. I'd find a way to get this guy on the team. Secondary hasn't had someone with that combo in a long time.

Only knack is that he's soft in run support though. Just lacks the size to be a factor there. But I'd pull the trigger in the 3rd.

I agree. I really do like the player, just not sure about the 2nd round.

I like the range and he makes plays, but he lacks length and the tackling is a concern.

Marvell Tell was doing some work at USC's pro day at CB, and Biggie Marshall took reps at S.

Marshall looked smooth in combine drills. Tell is built kinda like a CB.

Wonder if Savage can play Single High b/c he measures close to ET.

If they could get Savage, couldn't they just play him at FS where he'd be a better fit and move Woods to SS? Not ideal but not terrible there.

Savage and Woods are pretty similar prospects.

Moving Woods to SS would magnify his struggles with tackling so not ideal IMO.

He’s best suited for FS and slot CB.

we could play savage anywhere ON the field and the kid would make plays. His instincts can't be measured. Just watch the game tape.Would love this pick at 58. A steal. Plug and play guy for several years. He's a ball hawking safety.

I think that would be the approach, also they could be interchangeable.

Woods is good as a robber and plays better closer to the LOS, evidence, his play as a slot CB. Less space to cover at SS makes for less space a ballcarrier has to use, resulting in higher tackling success rate for Woods.

Savage's 4.3 speed would make throwing deep more risky vs DAL and Woods roaming the intermediate is risky too...shrinking the field and forming tighter passing windows.
