Having prime Kam Chancellor wouldn't have mattered in the Rams playoff game. The DT's were getting mauled all game, and the DE's were getting tossed like ragdolls. I saw Tyler Higbee wash D-Law out of a play on one occasion. And if the D-Line wasn't getting beat straight up, they were getting fooled on the several misdirection plays LA ran. As you noted above, LVE and Jaylon also had terrible games. Can't blame them too much for when LA's O-linemen were getting free to the second level, but even when they were clean they took some HORRIBLE angles that lead to some big runs. We didn't get gashed in the run game because of Heath or Woods.

If that game causes us to pass on Savage for an inferior safety with more size I'll be sick.

So if we would've had a S on the roster that is an above average run defender you think it would've made zero difference? That makes zero sense to me.

That has nothing to do with the actual reason why we lost the game - the 273 yards given up on the ground rushing.

Now do I think we need a safety who is a more secure tackler than Heath/Woods? Yes. Do I think an upgrade at safety can improve (but not fix) the run defense? Yes.

But the Rams game was a complete undressing of the defense that no safety was fixing.

Your previous posts mentions nothing about what our safeties did or didn’t do, you just blamed it on other positions.

So again, you think an above average run defending safety doesn’t help us at all against the Colts or Rams?
