IMO its like the second Dez contract, both sides are going to wait until the market is set and then match what is out there. DLaw's agent wants Dallas to set the market but that kind of thing is old Jerry, not new Stephen.

Yup they want Mack money. Not going to happen here.

Agreed...I don't trust this guy at all. BUT he has leverage due to Randy and D.Irving's ganja meltdowns. Sucks, but it's true.
I am hoping we can work something out with him. Going into the season with 0 pass rush isn’t cool.

Stupid teams like the Raiders are messing up the values. Over paying since they have cap space. Same can be said about the Mack deal last year.
They do it intentionally when they have the money. So other teams with lesser cap space can’t sign there players. Strategery... lol.

It over values the players. There should be a max contact like basketball. It should gradually rise every year.

Apparently D-Law wants to be paid at market rate and the Cowboys want him to play for a ham sandwich.

The guy has an injured wing. I'm not paying his asking price until he at least has successful surgery to fix it. The 2018 season was just a big act by him pretending to be a good teammate. Many of you were fooled by his one season performance but not me. He is trouble and worse than that he is injured trouble unable to duplicate last season. The Cowboys would be wise to trade this fool. I don't care if he feels disrespected. His pretending to be a leader last season is disrespectful. This dog just needs to be who he really is, which is no leader and he doesn't deserve a big payday from the Cowboys. He'll never play up to the money he's asking for again.

Did you suck the Cheeto dust off your fingers before you typed that?

I agree. The salary cap goes up every year. But the player values seem to be going up faster.

It's getting hard to retain players. Pay DLaw like he's a qb. While QBs are earning contracts that will kill a salary cap. Beasley is looking to make 9M a season. I don't blame SJ staying still now.

The Cowboys set this up last year by tagging him and not getting a deal done. Pay the man or move on from him.

Exactly it's not like he hasn't earned the pay raise. he has played like a top 5 DE the last 2 seasons. This was the chance the Cowboys took when they franchised him last year and they lost. He bet on himself, didn't hold out, signed the tender, played and played well. Time to pay the man and they better do it quick because he still needs that shoulder surgery and the longer they wait the longer he will be unavailable

I don’t understand why he has to sign to have his surgery.

How do we know the Cowboys aren’t offering market rate and D-Law isn’t holding out to be the highest paid DE in football?

He doesn't but things can go wrong in a surgery, it's unlikely but it can happen and if it did and he wasn't signed would the Cowboys still want to sign him after and if they did would the $ amount drop significantly

Demarcus Lawrence was suspended.

He had a year when Benson Mayowa had more sacks than him.

He's had multiple injuries to his back and shoulder.

He took a while to even be good.

He's now a very good player. He's not elite.

I would very much like him here, but I fully understand the Cowboys reluctance to sign him to big money.

And if the Colts will give up a 1 and 3....bye.
