Maybe were waiting till draft day to trade tank for a first. That gets him off the books. Then we sign our guys. "technically" it makes sense. Otherwise why are we dragging this out.

I forgot about that. But if we have him sign it before the draft he gets a massive payday from somebody.Hed have to sign the tag before the draft. If I was him I wouldnt.

Remember that most of the “our guys” are still under contract - they aren’t free agents that either have to be signed or franchised like Lawrence. No near term deadline to worry about.Maybe were waiting till draft day to trade tank for a first. That gets him off the books. Then we sign our guys. "technically" it makes sense. "technically" you're right. I just don't like seeing us kicking a lot of big contacts down the road. We only get one franchise tag.Remember that most of the “our guys” are still under contract - they aren’t free agents that either have to be signed or franchised like Lawrence. KC insiders are talking about the Chiefs going all in this year with Mahomes on his rookie deal. 2 firsts. I hope and pray it happens.Maybe were waiting till draft day to trade tank for a first. The point is that unlike with Lawrence there is no difference between whether they get them done today, tomorrow, next week or next month. It’s not pay them today or lose them. I expect a few will get done In the next month or two and maybe one or two more during the season. And they may even push one off until after the season (Byron Jones?)"technically" you're right. Exactly what i was thinking. Ether draft day or close to it.I wouldn’t rule out the possibility of a trade. Stephan is extremely cheap and he’s probably convincing Jerry to stay put in negotiations and if we can’t work it out we could trade him.
I think you're right. The tag either goes on dak or jones. The point is that unlike with Lawrence there is no difference between whether they get them done today, tomorrow, next week or next month. Of course Jerry has said Dak’s contract will come soon. I guess we’ll see. As for Jones, I think there is some chance they don’t extend him at all if Awuzie and others play well. I’m not saying they wouldn’t like to keep him longer, but if salary cap money needs to be cleared he could be deemed more expendable than Dak or Zeke or Tank.I think you're right.
