We were not used to start a bidding war. Other teams already know the FO are cheap.

Your to comfortable with our 500 team the past 25 years. Last year people were saying the same thing last year about not picking up any recievers and ended up sacraficing our first to fix our dunpster fire issue. Safety is our weakest link on defense our FO is truly terrible is we dont do something major in FA or either pick one in the first two picks come draft time.
FA isn’t over and the draft is still over a month away.

Look who's trolling again.
Why not add something to the thread instead of doing your same old stuff on every one of them..
I did. I expressed what most of us feel about negative Nancy’s like yourself.

Hey at least we have a special teamer to come back in and drag the rest of the defense down, yes he is that bad. As many games as he has cost us over time, most teams would have kicked him to the curb, but due to our JAG philosophy he fits right in with our 25 years of mediocrity

I wish I had a dollar for every time I've seen someone on this board yell at Heath because he's the last guy they see chasing a receiver, even though it was someone else who blew the coverage and he was just trying to run the guy down.

Heath is no All Pro, but the notion that he's cost the Cowboys "many games" is comical.

He cost the Rams game for sure...

Same as Thomas Dallas will not overpay for an older player who is on the downhill side. I would like to get Berry but not at all cost, I think some here tend go into panic mode and would actually pay out big money for players who really are on their last leg and no longer in their prime.

No, you don't speak for anyone else, and certainly not any "most of us".

You're alone in being the most miserable malcontent this forum has. You speak for no one other than yourself and the misery that is your life.

Impossible to lowball him. He's looking for one nice contract and someone may offer it to him foolishly like someone did for Richard Sherman.
My guess is he is trying to find someone to overpay for him. He probably thinks he is worth somewhere near what Earl Thomas got.
You are both right. I know the Berry's mindset (distant relatives) and if you are looking for a discount on their abilities, you started negotiations on the wrong foot. This is a man that went through cancer to get back on the football field.

If you want EB1 you are going to pay the $7M he lost when KC cut him to start. You are going to give him at minimum 2 years, and you should offer the same coaching deal upon retirement you are giving Witten.

You are forgetting Earl Thomas, and Eric Berry, will eventually go into the Hall of Fame. This is not Brandon Carr or La'roi Glover. My Cuz is going to get his money.
I am fine with this. The guy is broken down
Have you been watching Heath play SS. I rather a broke down Eric Berry for 3 games versus Heath for 16. Hopefully by 3 games the SS we draft will be ready to play and Heath can go back to Special Teams.

As one writer said: No matter what happens with Berry, the Cowboys cannot afford to go into the 2019 season with Jeff Heath slotted in as their starting safety. Pro Football Focus rated him the No. 81 safety in the NFL last year. That’s not good enough for a team with legitimate Super Bowl aspirations.

However, its not over until its over regarding Eric Berry. Family is important. The Jones are about family so there is hope.

I'd rather have a broke down Berry over Heath. But broke Down Berry won't be on the field. He's proven to not be reliable. If the Cowboys sign Berry, Heath will still be starting because Berry isn't going to play. If Berry signed a contract similar to Cobb then I'd love the deal. No long term commitment.

There are other safeties that I have mentioned that will still be available/maybe after Berry finds a landing spot....no worries here.

Berry is on the hunt for his final payday, I don't blame this team for being precautionary, his market price will drop like a rock,, I would take a gamble at that point however.
