While this is true, at this point in their careers, Lawrence was coming off an very productive season with 8 sacks. Taco, frankly, showed zero improvement. You could argue he actually got worse to the point they deactivated him from games. He was given an opportunity to take the DE spot in preseason opposite Lawrence and couldn't.

I won't call him a bum at this point but people should really stop invoking Demarcus Lawrence's name when talking Taco. At this point in their careers, the trend was entirely different.

Agreed.

From what I’ve seen of Taco, he’s been dreadful in run support as well.

Now I’m sure there is an all 22 proving how he is good, but just my view from the naked eye.

wonder if this is going to get done or is jones to cheap to make it happen

Miami is just gauging interest right now.

Some mystery team may come in and knock their socks off with an offer. I do believe also, they paid his 1 million roster bonus. So there is no rush at the moment

As someone explained earlier, the Cook signing puts a dent in their cap space, making it far more difficult to sign Quinn.

Oh please. They've got a 40 year old QB on an expiring deal and a ton of moves they can make to free space. But yeah, that's a situation where you would worry about pushing cap charges into later years.

Folks here act like cap space has zero flexibility when in reality, it is pretty simple to carve out more.

They think that way cause the team they follow can’t figure it out

I would take less money to play with the Saints over the Cowboys.

you wouldn't if you were actually in that situation.
because, you know, most athletes go to whoever gives them the most money.

Um, with all due respect, have you followed this team for more than, like, a year? Finding ways to manipulate the cap by “making moves” is exactly how we got into cap hell. But hey, keep living in the now.

And we are cap strapped how?

We aren't cap strapped now, but you don't manage the cap by only looking at the room you have in one year and not considering how things play out in the future. There are some big contracts coming over the next year, and they have to be factored in when looking at other deals.

Because they want to pay him for his services
That's understandable but at some point the team should set an example in my opinion. If I get stood up but went ahead and tried the date a second time that steakhouse and winner dinner changes to maybe something more along the lines of TGIF.

they're not spurned bitter girlfriends, they're an NFL team trying to get better
I get why they are wanting his services as a team I live in La and love the fact that they have been put in this position. As a side note I just realized my sarcasm is hard to understand through text

True millions are on the table but why not attend a scheduled sit down to hear what is offered?
I can’t speak for his motives, I was only responding to question of why the Saints would still be willing to talk to him later on after he cancelled the appointment this time.

This, if can't get Kelsey in fantasy next year Cook could be 2nd. I took J. Graham and he did nothing for me this year.

I understand why you took Graham. People trusted Rodgers to keep Jimmy consistant.

The packers unfortunately relied more on the WR's and RBs.

Funny thing is Rodgers favored the TE alot in 2017 which is what lead to the koolaid drinking after they picked up Graham in 2018.

But I did have cook and it paid off.

Keep an eye on the dolphins TE gesicki. He will be a sleeper.

Trading up for Davenport and having Cam Jordan already, plus, Quinn costing several M doesn't make cap sense. Saints have to start saving or releasing for Michael Thomas contract not extending a DE and losing draft compensation.
