If Tank gets traded:
1. Who becomes the emotional leader on the team, Witten?
2. It would be the New England thing to do
3. What type of message would it send to the current players?

LOL..........wait, are you claiming that Tank is the emotional leader of the team? Since when?

Dak is the leader of this team and its not even close.

Yeah, just get the shoulder fixed already. No matter what happens.
I've been an advocate for Tank in that his technique makes for his skills to age gracefully, but this is full-on stupid.

You want to sell yourself on a market, you make yourself as marketable as possible.

I would fire my agent in a blink, should he give me advice to hold out because I'm "groggy" and need meds to write.
I make myself ready to work my *** of and sell myself to the highest bidder.

Done it more than once.

DLaw has a torn labrum which severely restricts movement of his arm.

He needs to have surgery to fix it, but he doesn't want to have the surgery until he signs a new long term contract.

Jerry aint playing that, if he is going to dish out top 5 money then he wants a player in tip top physical shape, which DLaw is not. See above.

Bottom line...……..Jerry aint doing a long term deal until DLaw gets his shoulder operated on...…...that's the big takeaway message here.
The whole situation sucks. I'd trade him if we could but no one is going to do that without the shoulder situation being resolved. Would have to take pennies on the dollar for a good player. I don't like players holding the franchise hostage.

Stephens sending a horrible message to our lockeroom. Lawrence did everything he was asked and more all while injured and they're still playing games. Yeah he's being stupid by waiting for surgery, but I more care about the message Stephens sent. They'll likely vastly overpay Dak whose OK and they'll low ball our stars like Lawrence and probably soon to be Zeke

He's kind of the leader of the defense. They respect him, whether you acknowledge it, or not.
Dak is the Leader of the team, but the D will always have their own identity.

He’s already said this.

My translation: get the surgery or you’re not getting the money you want from us..

Makes me think at least another team has communicated with us RE a potential trade..
His agent is giving him garbage, in hopes of leverage.

Who the Hell is his agent? He can't be a nobody...

The message is no one is above the team. Unless you're actually the best DE in the league.

He's not the best in the league and even if he was the team leader everyone sites, get yourself surgically repaired and be ready to play. Some of you guys act as though $20 mil is nothing. Come on!

Agreed...……..I am leaning toward trading him now myself.

I dont know why he is refusing to have the surgery to fix his arm. He should have done this the next day after the season ended so he would be several months into rehab by now. Waiting to have the surgery until after he signs a long term deal sends up so many red flags for me.

If I could get a first round pick for him, I would trade him tonight...……...trying to hold the franchise hostage with a "pay me, then I will get surgery" statement is not cool. He is acting like a total dick right now , so I would just peace out and trade his arse for a first if I could.

Apparently it’s someone the FO is familiar with and don’t get along with. David Canter...

I think you misinterpreted what I was saying. I meant he's not the best DE in the league and does NOT deserve to be paid as such. Trade him if you can get fair value.

I'm almost 100% sure DLaw is eventually going to have to play out the season on the franchise tag.

He's digging this hole deeper and deeper.

Yeah, I think they make him play on the tag if he is not going to get the surgery right now. But that begs the question, do you think DLaw is going to show up and play on the tag or is he going to pull a Bell and sit out?
