DLaw has a torn labrum which severely restricts movement of his arm.

He needs to have surgery to fix it, but he doesn't want to have the surgery until he signs a new long term contract.

Jerry aint playing that, if he is going to dish out top 5 money then he wants a player in tip top physical shape, which DLaw is not. See above.

Bottom line...……..Jerry aint doing a long term deal until DLaw gets his shoulder operated on...…...that's the big takeaway message here.
AGREE with JJ on this. Why dole out huge money if the player isn't taking care of his livelihood..HIS BODY? Tank getting bad advice...and maybe Stevie soured the negotiations.

You guys think DLaw plays on the tag or is he going to pull a Bell and sit out at least part of the season?

The other thing you have to worry about is him dogging it if you make him play on the tag. Is he going to give full effort if you force him to play on the tag or is he going to cite "business decisions" and half arse it?

Legit concern, no joke.

Cowboys should have signed Tank by now and he should have gotten his surgery by now.
yup both sides started off on the wrong foot. Now Tank needs to fire his agent and get realistic. Sign his tender, fix the shoulder in good faith..GET PAID. He thinks he is getting paid based off what he did..not what he WILL do. He couldn't be more wrong. The NFL doesn't work like that.

Yeah, I'm with Jerry on this one.

I tell Tank to go get his arm fixed, rehab, get back to being 100% healthy and ready to go and then we will sit down and talk long term deal. Not before.

Now if Tank doesn't like that, he can sit the season out and forfeit $20 million.

Yeah, dogging it in a contract year with $100 million on the line is the smart way to go. You think he will want to have a down year or put up double digit sacks again in another contract year?
