Yeah, I think they make him play on the tag if he is not going to get the surgery right now. But that begs the question, do you think DLaw is going to show up and play on the tag or is he going to pull a Bell and sit out?
If he's dumb enough to leave 20M on the table, then I don't know what to tell him.

Yeah, dogging it in a contract year with $100 million on the line is the smart way to go. You think he will want to have a down year or put up double digit sacks again in another contract year?

Well DLaw is not exactly making smart decision here. I mean, with a $100 million dollar contract on the line why is he refusing to have surgery on his arm?

If he was smart, he would have had surgery the day after the Ram's loss. But no, he apparently thinks walking into Jerry's office with one working arm and asking for $100 million is the better option.

Like I said, he is not exactly making smart business decisions right now.

Stephens sending a horrible message to our lockeroom. Lawrence did everything he was asked and more all while injured and they're still playing games. Yeah he's being stupid by waiting for surgery, but I more care about the message Stephens sent. They'll likely vastly overpay Dak whose OK and they'll low ball our stars like Lawrence and probably soon to be Zeke
I think the message sent if you want to get paid
Get yourself ready to play
I want Tank to stay but he’s drug out the shoulder and I honestly don’t get why
It’s simple surgery and he’s gonna get paid but he has to be physically able to play if he wants to get paid by any team
Think of his options
Sit out, lose 20 million dollars
He only has 3 option
Sign the tag
Sign a deal
Stay home and lose 20 million

Trade him. You can't allow a player to do what he's done.
So what Jerry is saying is..

as it stands now..the team believes they are being ask to take a chance Tank is not going to be worth what he is asking with health questions of no shoulder repair.

That sounds pretty clear they are not rushing anything until Tank does what is best for himself and the team.

Interesting way of saying your move, Tank.

DLaw has a torn labrum which severely restricts movement of his arm.

He needs to have surgery to fix it, but he doesn't want to have the surgery until he signs a new long term contract.

Jerry aint playing that, if he is going to dish out top 5 money then he wants a player in tip top physical shape, which DLaw is not. See above.

Bottom line...……..Jerry aint doing a long term deal until DLaw gets his shoulder operated on...…...that's the big takeaway message here.
We need nothing further.

Can someone translate for me?

Jerry said...."I like the player....but I'm cheap. I don't want to pay that much money. We played the free agent game...and I lost the bet D-Law would be worth a 2nd franchise tag. I really don't want to pay what his market value is...because I just bought an expensive boat..and my booze tab...well... we can't cut into that expense."

Tank is an idiot for not getting his shoulder fixed right after the loss to the Rams. Get this chit in order then start demanding a long term contract.

Even if the Cowboys didn’t (or don’t) give him one, at least make yourself marketable. Now he’s risking going into OTA’s not fully healed. Dumb moves all around by him and his agent as things come to light.

That’s a knee jerk reaction from a typical fan. I don’t like the back and forth going on either but your take is just a juvenile mouth breather take.

Funny, how y'all want to tell a man what to do with his body and money, especially, when he makes more in a week than most do in a year.

Anyway, Jerry n Stephen made a promise their not honoring. Haggling over the surgery is nonsense when if they had kept they word the surgery would be done. Dak, Zeke, Byron, Amari n Jaylon are taking notes... it's not just about DLaw. It's about integrity.

He didn't get it fixed last offseason. That should be the uproar. He knowingly and deliberately went into the 2018 season injured in hopes of gaining leverage on a new contract.

Sure enough, he took a step back on the field in 2018. Good but not as good as 2017.

I don't know how any fan can defend that. I honestly wouldn't even communicate with his agent after that.

Well you don’t really know the parameters around his injury with regards to surgery and rehab time. And Jones is obviously using it as bargaining leverage. Which I don’t agree with.

Um..no.

Over-react day?

Tank did nothing extra ordinary last season and in fact had like 7 sacks less in 2018 than 2017.

Let's just all agree Tank is at the bottom of the priority list for a new contract.

If they start signing the rest of the players..

Tank is going to get a worst and worst deal.

And Stephen has nothing to do with it.

It's Tank and his agent dealing in bad faith.

I had been confident wed lock him up, now I am getting more skeptical.

Im inclined to believe his demands have surpassed his worth. I feel this way because of how he is using his injury as leverage. Its a bs strategy for anyone looking to negotiate in good faith.

In real life Id side with the employee 9 times out of 10, but in football Im stuck rooting for the team. Consequently Dlaw or his agent is pissing me off.

How is Jones using it as leverage when Dlaw is choosing to delay surgery until he has a deal? It seems he is the one threatening to miss games.

He probably got advice from a doctor saying that it could be rehabed through exercise and rest. Surgery is usually the last resort...I don't blame him from not going under the knife.
