Meh. Each side will keep squeezing for more.

Both sides will keep squeezing until the time remaining for Lawrence to heal from injury starts to impact training camp, then maybe the season.

That's if they don't get a trade elsewhere worked out, which would be in both their interests.

If they’re offering 21-23 million a year with 50 guaranteed, then we should no way in hell pay that.

People complain about Dak gettinf 28-30 a year, but atleast he touched the ball every play.

That’s way too much to pay a DE that can get completely taken out of a game on more than a few occasions.

So I’m sure Jerry will pay it

Some people are just never going to understand what fair market value is and that rarely do players accept less than that, especially when they’re negotiating their first big contract.

Bye tank!!! and if I were the cowboys wait till last minute. He just isn’t that good I’m sorry at least I don’t feel he is.

23 million that’s nuts
I tend to agree, he's not a generational type pass rusher and disappears late in the season. For that kind of coin you better take over some games, which he doesn't do.

I get it. I mean, some people will never understand that what makes this sport work, what pays for the Golden Goose, are the Fans. Without them, there are no "market value" deals. Our Fans want a winner and I am not sure how much longer they are gonna wait. We are coming up on 25 years now and that's a very long time for a fan base to wait, for even a decent team.

If players and agents don't understand that what it's going to take is a winning team, in order to keep the cash rolling, then I hope they do go down this path and I hope they do see it all cave in on itself. Might do them a little good to go back to a time when players had to take on an off season job to make things right.

They better start working on a trade right now while there is time for him to have his surgery and be ready to play on opening day for his new team.
We simply can't afford him without losing other key players.

Trade him for the highest 1st round pick they can get.
Get the trade for Quinn finalized.
Trade for Ogbuh.
Sign McDowell.

Use the first rd pick to draft Rapp the safety.
Draft another DE and DT in the 2nd and 3rd rounds.

Start the year with Quinn, Ogbah, Taco, Crawford, Heyder, Armstrong and the rookie DE.
At some point hopefully Gregory will be back in the middle of the season.

Use the money saved by not paying Dlaw 22 mil per or whatever he is asking for to get the core of the team locked up long term and move on.

Underperforming the last 25 years hasn’t hurt the bottom line for this team one bit, nor has the NFL felt any hurt. Salary cap is going up. There are players you have to pay, and your star DE is one of them.
