I think the money is ludicrous, but it is funny how the great majority of people side with the Cowboys, aka the "boss". Fact is each of us would try to get as much as we could if we were in his shoes.
Yea, we’re talking about 10% overpaid. To save a total collapse on our DL.

owners want to make as much as they can
yes, but not exactly applicable in this situation. the cap demands that you spend 89% over a four year period. Also, for whatever Jerry is or is not, he has never shied away from spending all that was allowed to field a team. They have offered him a deal that is in line with current market value. The money not paid to him will go to another player.

BYE BYE bro, been nice watching you in a Star but you are for sure not worth over 20..my number has and always has been 19 for Tank...the FO obviously tried hard at 20 but I wouldn't budge..NO TEAM will give him that Hold tight FO, he will come around or sit..let him seek trades with Contract terms attached and find out quick where hes at..

take look at Bell he truly didnt get what he wanted and neither will Tank.. Bell holds out from making 14.5 to make more then Gurley and gets a LTC at 13..he feels in public he won but he didnt , hes not the highest paid back and playing for the jets now instead of steelers..thats lose brah..

As a result of our other poor risk which have failed we are left in this vulnerable situation. I’m concerned it risk our season without any defensive line pressure. If your ok with that over a couple million a year then by all means proceed.

Then don't make it worse by making signing a bad deals. I think Cowboys are being more than fair with him and what has his response been? He is refusing to get the procedure done on his shoulder so are we to once again go into this season dealing with that. Fact is when Dallas needed him to step up he failed he did nothing in post season and much of the 2nd half of the season. Difference makers step up in big games and big moment and I have no issue paying out that kind of player top money but I think it is a mistake to a guy whose impact has not been to that level.

I am the guy that buys the season tickets and absorbs the cost of running this business when ticket prices go up as a result of covering the cost of these ever expanding salaries. That's who I am to want to set the market on what a player wants and can get. If your thing is watching games for free at home then that's fine but don't tell me I shouldn't expect my investment in this team to be spent wisely.
That’s such a Homeristic overview lol.

We’re defending a front office that placed themselves in this vulnerable situation because 2 risks failed. This is the price that must be paid or we risk a huge setback in our defense.

As a fan I’m not willing to take that risk. Figure out how we can overpay a couple of million a year.

Just meet in the middle at 21 mil a year already and let’s move on.
NO 20 is top money IMO..i wouldn't offer penny more.. hes truly worth 19-19.5 if you look at comps that have recently signed..why budge..time to hold out until he breaks at 20, let him sign FT late or hold out and /or trade..

hot boyz failed against the rams, when the lights were brightest that big head approach was NOT there..it hasn't for while and overpaying is not the answer..we let Ware walk and he was better..

Just because it says an avg of 20mil a yr doesnt mean he will get 20mil every yr. Yr 1 will most likely be round have that. and could be even less with a vet minimum, to help resigning Dak and Cooper.
Truth. The details of the contract need to be seen to better evaluate the opportunity for an exit strategy.

Everybody talking about good deal. For all we know this guy will never be the same again after surgery.

I really dont even want tank on the team. Just trade him or let him walk/sitout and keep the money to go elsewhere on the team.

In my eyes this guy is already damaged goods and a major risk.

You have to draw the line and stop paying every player as if they are the absolute best at their position. Like Tank & would like to keep him but if he wants a couple million more let him earn it elsewhere & give it all to the state in taxes. He'll apparently feel better about it. His agent will get his % off the larger amount & won't care that Tank's net is equal or less.

Yes 10% savings on Tank will translate in savings on Cooper, Dak, Zeke, Jones, Smith and LVE in the future.

Bend now and pay in the future. Hold firm, and it could mean savings on all those players as well.

It was reported that the Cowboys recently upped their offer and that their initial offer was under $20MM.

So if they offered him $17MM or $18MM and now are just getting to the floor level, which is the tag, I understand the previous reports of beeing far off.

$20 to $22 is not far.

Ticket prices are not necessarily tied to player salaries. Correlation does not imply causation. Being a bit tongue and cheek here but I hope you understand.

actually,if Im Tank, I am taking that deal like NOW. Its exactly in line with what a DE like him should be getting.Flowers gets 19 mil per..so I think if this report is true, the 2 parties are much closer to a deal than we thought. This is actually good news, IF TRUE.
The 20 million may have been the Cowboys FINAL offer. At least I hope it is.

Obviously the Cowboys believe in his value or wouldn’t have Tagged him a second time.

Now we’re just haggling out a couple million delaying a deal.

That's your opinion. I don't see it that way at all. This front office doesn't need defending, they are doing just fine. I refuse to be held hostage by a player that's decide to weaponize his injury in negotiations. Giving into that tactic is just weak.
