Everyone is saying Tank should get paid Mack like money. They have compared their stats and results. Very similar but yet we are only getting a 2nd or 3rd rounder for him? Puzzles me.

Mack was traded for

Bears get: Khalil Mack, a 2020 second-round round pick and a conditional 2020 fifth-round pick.
Raiders get: 2019 first-round pick, 2020 first-round pick, 2020 third-round pick, 2019 sixth-round pick.

I don't think Tank is as good as Mack. But since everyone thinks they are close then the Cowboys should easily get:

1st '19. 2nd '20 and 4th in '19

Don't get this 2nd rounder business.
The money he's going to want you could get a second round for him much faster than a first So my thought was take the two and move up. But I understand what you're saying also. We're just kicking the can around

Anything less then the package I suggested would be as bad as a loss that the Steelers had in the Brown trade. If your looking at a trade your looking at a OBJ type of deal. Or let him sit.

So if you're going to Trade D-Law, this is what I would do.

First, I'd be looking for a 2020 1st (& maybe some change)

Then in 2020 I can move up and draft Tua & forgo paying Dak

Then you will have the cap room to sign the best FA DE available

My problem is this. I've been looking for a solid defensive tackle for over three seasons now. I truly believe you can't win this league without middle pressure. Look what it did to Mahomes in the championship game. Middle pressure destroyed him

100% this

You are high if you think he is worth just a 2nd. I wouldn’t trade him for anything outside of top ten in the draft.

We finally land a pass rusher and this board wants to trade him. Good Lord.
Nobody wants to do the Dirty Work. But you can't ruin the team because of the salary. Besides without a middle defensive pass rush. He's basically nullified. All the quarterback needs to do is Step Up

I only trade him for a 1st in the 10-15 range...I doubt he gets traded.

That would be a surprise. Give up a top 16 pick to pay this guy what he wants with the selection of affordable rookie DE's? I don't think there's a GM that would do that deal.
That's why I be willing to take a second for him. Just to get rid of him sounds cruel but that's the business

I agree.

But given what the Raiders got for Mack as noted above, a 1st round pick should be an absolute minimum.

So I don't see any trade coming for Lawrence. So it's either make a deal or have Lawrence sit out.

Take the two second-round picks move up in the first round. Take a defensive tackle higher on the board. Probably going to lose him anyways. And if you stay with him, without middle pressure, all the quarterback needs to do is step up and your Edge rushers can't get there anyways. Just a thought

Haha, you know something? I was thinking something very similar to this! However, I do wonder if we could get a bit more than just a 2nd. If we can't get a first for DLaw, then I'd see if a team would bite on giving us a 2nd and a 4th for him. That would give us quite a bit of ammunition. Then, we could potentially trade up quite high. This is a draft with quite a few really good DEs, and I can see us replacing DLaw quite easily with a really good DE. Or, more importantly, we could trade up for a top DT like Raekwon Davis of Alabama in the 1st if we move up.

PIT wanted more for Brown but it was best to pull the trigger and move on.

If they're going to end up trading him, better to do it now than let it linger. Also allow the rest of the team to adjust to it. And also allow them to adjust to the fact the team won't roll over.....unless they end up doing that then a different message is sent and received.

This isn't like the Old Farm. I miss my cowboy family. People here get touchy so easy.
