Hatcher wasn't named. a starter until 2011 , when rob Ryan was named dc. He Had career highs in tackles in both 2011 (36) and 2012(51). He also had four and half sacks in 2011 and four in 2012. He also lead the league in quarterback pressures from a interior d lineman in 2012 with 29. That's what I meant by Hatcher started to develop before rod wasHatcher's best year here was as Marinelli's attacking 3T. He was the best pass rusher that year.
Before and after he was 2 gapping in a 3-4, first here and then Washington. He wasn't all that great in this role. He even lamented that he wasn't getting a chance to rack up stats in a 3-4 and then went back to a 3-4 team anyways to get more money after he did have a high stat year in a 4-3.
He's a good example of how a decent 2 gapper in a 3-4 can do really well in a 4-3 once it clicks that they only have to be responsible for hitting a single gap as hard as possible almost every play.
Hired.hatcher had his best season under rod and montee but the idea that he was some undicsovered prospect who rod developed is factually wrong
