If he ends up injured again this season the Eagles are going to have a dilemma on their hands. They won’t have Foles to bail them out and Wentz will still be looking for a huge contract when the time comes despite being injury prone. He’s yet to play in a playoff game and didn’t look as good last season as he did during his second year.

Good lord. Man, whatever you think of Wentz, his injury history does not look good.

Wentz had a stress fracture in his back in college, it was included in his Combine medicals.

He broke a bone in his throwing wrist that needed surgery his senior year. Missed 8 weeks, came back. Good job dude.

Hairline fracture in his ribs pre-season his rookie year. Came back and played the whole season, tough guy.

Plays most of his 2nd year, then it gets pretty serious. Grade 3 tear of both his ACL and LCL. That's the most severe. Both completely torn in half. Providing absolutely no stability at all, at that point, just blowing in the breeze. Really sucks for a QB you give up a bunch of picks for and hoping to carry the franchise for 10+ years, but not the end of the world.

Then in his 3rd year he gets another stress fracture, and it's a fractured vertebrae.

Geez dude. I'm not sad the Eagles are going to be in a jam, but I wouldn't wish these kinds of injuries on this guy. I don't think they picked up his 5th year yet, which they probably will, but they only have a couple weeks to do it. There's actually a legitimate argument against it. It's going to be like $23mill. Guaranteed for injury. I mean, if you're playing the odds, I don't think I'd take the option. Someone can feel free to disagree, but I'd let him finish this year, and if he finishes it great! I'd tag him in 2020 and see if he finishes another year. It's not a huge difference in price, and that difference is pretty easily worth the hedge of risk in case he gets injured again in 2019. If he finishes both years, I see where the team is at, if he's good enough to pay an obscene amount of money then i'd do it. If not, plan accordingly. Eagles are in a pretty tough spot.

You have to imagine any extension talk is basically off the table for now, and his future is completely up in the air. Sucks for Wentz, while the Eagles can suck it.

It's going to be crazy if keeping Foles actually ends up having been the better option.

Dak plays more often and wins more often.

Oh, Dak’s numbers are better too, if numbers are your thing.

Anyways, what were we talking about again? Oh right, the least clutch QB in football whose teammates recently called him out for his lack of leadership. Sorry, carry on.
Oh yeah? Well what about that time he beat the crap out of the Cowboys minus Zeke, Tyron and Sean Lee? That’s the real measure of the man.

Can’t count all those Cowboy wins over Wentz, though. Too many injuries for Philly.

I’m so glad Wentz plays for the Eagles. I just hope they pull the trigger and give him that big contract that they’ll regret for years to come.

Even when he is healthy, which isn’t that often, he is the least clutch quarterback in the NFC. He can’t bring his team back from behind and always locks into one receiver.

Such an astute observation, Wentz didn't play as well after knee surgery, than before knee surgery (an ACL takes 2 years to recover from). Fortunately the Eagles are a complete team, Howie Roseman does a fantastic job of creating competition at every position. They don't have Foles, but do you know who the backup is. They tendered him at a 2nd round level. Not worried if Wentz goes down. We've been in that position before, no excuses, not just next man up, it's everyman up. We all we got, we all we need!

So who is this backup we are supposed to fear?
I don’t think we fear the Eagles at all actually. Dream on.

No team is complete unless they have a very capable starting QB and if Wentz is unable to finish another season due to injury, Philly won't have Foles to turn to. It was his outstanding play during the playoffs and SB 2 years ago that led to their first SB championship. He helped Philly advance last year in the playoffs. As for Philly's backup QB going forward it's Nate Sudfeld who was Washingtons 6th round pick 3 years ago. He has a grand total of 25 regular season passing attempts in 3 seasons. That's certainly not enough of a sample size to know what they have in him.

He’s suggesting we might not sweep them next season
Anythings possible, u could sweep us, but trying to be unbiased, I think the eagles got better thru free agency and the cowboys made mostly lateral moves. Quinn is a definite upgrade, but I think everything else is a wash. Witten at his age is a question, the safety George Iloka is a marginal safety, can Cobb replace Beasleys production, not sure( biggest boom or bust player). The eagles signed Malik Jackson which is an upgrade, traded for Jordan Howard, got desean Jackson back (who agreed is old but still averaged the most yards per reception), vinny curry is back for depth, Sendejo more depth (when healthy is better than Iloka), lj fort is a downgrade from hicks but we also have 3 draft picks before the cowboys have 1. I'm more concerned about the Commanders next year than the cowboys. If Alex smith doesn't get hurt, the skins win the division. And they upgraded this year.

I think it is some kid from Indiana. He looked good last year against vanilla defense in pre season but let’s see how he does when the games are real. For all of the criticism Dak gets ( I’ll admit I have given some) one thing he can’t be criticized is that at least he is durable and not injury prone like other qbs.

Like that matters, have you checked your last 5 drafts? You guys draft like trash.
