People keep acting like those who don't want to Pay Dak have an issue with the rising cap and the qb market.

We have a problem with thinking Dak is a near top of the market qb.

There is a difference. Learn it.

Oh and bookmark this post. I'll holla at you in 5 years.

I'm old enough to remember when I was ridiculed for saying we shouldn't have drafted Zeke. Those voices get quieter everyday.

Dak contract
7yrs 182mil 45mil SB 100mil Guranteed.
26 AAV
Basically ends up being a 8yr deal with 2019

2019 caphit
2.025mil base 9.95mil SB
12.2mil caphit

2020
20mil fully guranteed 9mil SB
29mil caphit

2021
15mil fully guranteed 9mil SB
24mil caphit

2022
13mil fully guranteed 9mil SB
22mil caphit

2023
11mil 7mil guranteed 9mil SB
20mil caphit

after 5yrs the Guaranteed money has been paid, and Dallas can restructure or let him play it out or release him.

All with manageable yrs and 29mil in 2020 when Dallas has over 100mil in cap space.

Did Cutler ever make that much? Who the hell paid him $26M in a year?

Jimmy G is better than Dak and so is Nick Foles for that matter.

Garoppolo is better? I'm not even sure he's played enough for anyone to know what he is. 8 starts over the last 2 years. The next time he has more than 5 starts in a season will be the first time he's ever had 6 starts in a season.

Dak won’t match Russ or Rodgers because of the Super Bowl wins.

That said, he’ll get 25+ from multiple teams if we didn’t sign him. And with more than half the starting QBs pulling in over 20, it’s not a huge stretch.

Foles got 22 this year because of one postseason, one great season and not much else.
His 7 year career is lesser statistically than daks 3 year start. And dak in the 3 playoff games almost matched what foles did in his 3 game run to the ring.

I would love 25. I can see 27/29. I wouldn’t like 33+ at all.
Uh, Foles, Wilson, and Rogers also won a Superbowl... Daks price will certainly be high for sure, though.

Foles doesn’t qualify with the others.
A ring is fine.

But when that ring comes with a guy who has literally 2 total seasons with more than 7 TD passes out of his 7 year career and one of those two is a 13 TD/10 INT year... he doesn’t come close. His playoff run wasn’t even close to Flacco-esque.

25 M is floor - 35+M is ceiling.
$35mil per, which only one (more experienced and more successful) QB is currently signed for, is virtually too high a ceiling for 4th-year Dak’s first big contract, signed the same year.

Of course, this is Jerry Jones he’s dealing with...

I think Dak gets 28-30M/YR and it wont effect much moving forward but itll get brought up everytime Dak makes an incomplete pass regardless.

gotta love how the narrative changes with the haters.

When Dak was making 500k a year, they didnt care about the money. Now all of a sudden they care.

Now that Dak continues to make pro bowls and lead us to the playoffs hes good, hes just not worth the money. LOL

I get that everyone loved the cheap QB deal but it's not like that was going to last. Now we just gave out a 100M+ deal and still have 19M in cap space this year and 93M next year. It'll be fine.

Yeah i think that ship has sailed ,Dak is looking at a bigger pay day.
At least we have planned for this inspite Stphen trying to bargain for less thru the media.

It his job to try to hold the line but reality says no.

With the cap increasing every year..it should not be an issue.

The biggest concern is some guys will not match their play to their pay.

I think DAK will.

I’ll be very happy if we get Dak at 25 mill a year

That would be the biggest home town deals I’ve seen. Dak could maybe get more if he fought tooth and nail. But if he looks at the end game if he wins a super bowl he will have a very cushy life after football cashing big checks staying around football until he so chooses to quit

No one is worried about it but the trolls. Dak is one of the best young QB's in the NFL and its not even debatable.

I’ll make one prediction that I feel certain will hold true.

In the next two years, we will see plenty of lesser QBs making 25 million a year and plenty of starters who don’t win pushing between 25 and 30.

That’s why I say pay Dak now. Even if you feel you’re overpaying, in two years that amount will feel like a bargain. That’s how the market works.

Can’t disagree. He starts at 24 and maxed at about 28. Anything in between is likely market price for him.
If Cousins is getting 28 mil a year with his resume.....Dak's agent would be crazy to start with less than 28 mil. He should walk out of negotiations if SJ says anything less than 28 mil.
