On the inactive list? If we see McGovern this year we probably aren't doing so well.
Who says he’s going to be on the inactive list? No one. It’s the 3rd rd. He was by far the BPA and you can’t have enough depth on the OL. I guess you wanted an Earl Thomas or something like that.

I’ve watched a little bit of his film on YouTube and seriously what is not to like.

This guy looks like an absolute animal as a guard.

Big guy with great feet. Can move people.

If Frederick comes back then our interior should look more like it did when Leary was here.

Zach Martin is the low hanging fruit comparison but you can see him developing into a similar type of player.

I don’t like the reach for Hill but this pick looks good even though it wasn’t a BPA at position of need.

It seems an obvious decision to move Williams to OT. Su’a Filo was pretty good last season. Looney wasn’t bad either and this guy looks ready to play.

Williams would be a swing tackle upgrade and future starter which is no bad thing with Smith’s health issues recently.

Safety was the obvious choice when our pass defense has been average at best and we are consistently bottom of the league in ints. Not a backup o lineman when weve invested so much in the group

How am I being obtuse?

Where does McGovern play? Drafting a guy today for a potential opening 2 years from now doesn’t make a ton of sense when you have other needs.
Actually makes complete sense. You get bpa available and starting caliber guard for the next 8 years. Only issue is he way not start till next year. He will replace a disappointment in Collins getting 9 million per year. That’s great team building management.

Lol....Garrett just mentioned possibly moving Martin to tackle at some point. Use your imagination once in a while if you have one.

Tackle is more important than guard and guards are easier to find and cheaper. We now also have 2 young guards drafted the last two years. Simple deductive reasoning.

Collins is gone after this year.
Sorry but I live in reality.....WHat Garrett says, really, you're going to listen to what the quarterback coach has to say, I heard that same nonsense since Martin was drafted......I have some news for you, Garrett doesn't make the decisions when it comes to player personnel, the other clown does, Jerry, hence the problem and if tackle is more important, and I agree with you on that then why select another guard, use your common sense, martin, Williams, Looney, Su'a-fio, Redmond and now Mcgovern...how many damn guards do you need....yet at tackle, Smith that can't stay healthy and will need back surgery at some point, why he didn't have it already is beyond me.. Collins who is a guard playing tackle(terrible footwork) on his last year of his deal and Fleming, the swing tackle on the last year of his deal, gee you think maybe you should get a tackle in here and not another guard who isn't going to play this year, this team needs guys that can play NOW, not two or three years from now ..

He’s not a backup stupid. He’s starting caliber.

Oh so your going to get a day one starter in the 3rd round? Yah right.

Conner will start at latest next season.

Who cares that it doesn’t fit your agenda?

It might be great team building if you have a near flawless roster and are managing for the future.

But this team has enough holes and lacks playmakers at spots where it might be a luxury taking an OG that you think can step in two seasons from now.

No team has poured the resources into their OL like we have and many have been more successful than us.

Drafting on need is for losers. Just look at the Giants pick.

You don’t need to look at the Giants. Look at the team you constantly defend. They took Taco Charlton because of need.

Bro calm down and trust me, they know what they are doing better then anyone on this site as we will all be back to our professions on Monday morning. Not saying to not have an opinion, but they have much much much more info on what’s going on with their current and future needs. Their draft picks compared to the rest of the NFL as been right up there with any team. You just can’t rate a pick until you see how the entire process plays out over a few years.

Tyron, Zach, Fredbeard, Conner all missed games last year and it hurt us. Add this being Collins last year and we also don’t really know where Fred’s health is. They know more then we do at what they do. They have more money, time, man power, energy and must definitely more experience at this then again, any of us do know matter how much we YouTube.

I’m done and I’m going to bed as I have to get up to go to my profession tomorrow as the fry guy at Bob’s Big Boy.

You mean one season from now? Lol

So are you implying that some other 3rd rounder was going to come in and start and be the missing piece to a sb run this year?

Ok buddy. And who would that be?

How long since this front office put together a championship team? I have every right to question this pick. Last year we dont take a safety I wanted justin Reid and we take connor Williams who didnt contribute now same thing again this year.

You can find guys in the first three rounds that can start or be major contributors in year one and It's not an agenda, the tackle posiiton situation is a desperate need on this team...Smith is going to miss time this year, that is an absolute given with his back, Fleming is a huge drop off from Smith when healthy and the tackle posiiton is razor thin on this team....

this team doesn't value 1T or S, year after year you guys are let down.

I love this McGovern pick a lot, cause i think C. Williams sucked at LG, this guy should easily win that position and can also be insurance for Fredbeard....kudos to the FO.

You’re right Henny. But I do think they have a championship team. My opinion is they don’t have a championship Head Coach!

Good night!
