For me, Eruption comes to mind from the first VH album released in 1978. To this day, it is the most memorable album release of my lifetime.

GREAT album...David Lee Roth at the height of his vocal prowess.

As a young teenager I was obsessed with Kiss "Destroyer" when it came out. I was already a Kiss fan, but Destroyer was.......... OMG! :yourock: For my birthday, my sister gave me a large black velvet painting of the Destroyer album cover. It's awesome and still one of my prized possessions to this day.

Blew my mind might be a little strong but I went in to "got to have it" mode about two measures in when I heard it for the first time driving to work one sunny summer morning.
By the end of my lunch break that day I did have it.

GREAT album.
for me...Shout It Out Loud.

1980...7yrs old...Alabama released their album My Home's In Alabama....and on the radio...goin' to school....ridin' around w/my dad in his truck....was Tennessee River.
LOVED that song.
every time it came on...had to turn it up.
their vocals were so good.
such a fun song.

my favorite Elvis stuff had already been released....and were almost worn out by me.

Hard to argue with Van Halen's 1st album{Eruption in particular}, I admired several players at this point. Page, Blackmore, Lifeson, Frehley but when this album was released it was a total game changer. I still remember the Winter of 78 a friend played me some of the album in the high school band room. To say the least I was blown away. Also give a shout out to Zeppelins 2nd album but by the time I heard it the first time{74-75} it had already been out 6 or so years.

I don't have one particular song that i can specifically point to and say 'that's the one that did it', but when i was 13 and listened to this guy for the first time i was absolutely blown away

It sent me on a 3 or 4 year deep dive into all things Alice. He'll always have a special place in my rock n roll heart.

'I'd give a month of cigarettes for just a couple of lousy beers...'
