To the delusional cheerleaders who like to pretend Jerry is a passive figurehead and his chubby son and the great Will McClay actually run this team, tune into the 13:55 mark of this video and observe. Ignore the fact Stephen can't even answer a phone correctly.

Stephen works the phone like a good secretary. He can't say yes or no to these offers. He's not the decision maker.

"Umm...let me call you back. I have to ask Dad."

He presents the trade offers to his Daddy. The real boss. The head coach seems open to one of the trade proposals but gets immediately shut down.

Then Stephen mentioned he'd be willing to go down 3 spots for a pick.

Not happening, as the REAL decision maker in Dallas, Till. Death. Do. They. Part., has made his decision.

"Let's keep Connor McGovern."

And so it is done. (Shout out to Will McClay, who is strangely absent in this.)

Now this isn't news to anyone reasonable, I know. I'm talking to our less fortunate right now. Those loving in their alternate reality because the real world offends their fandom.

So, to those bros.... Meet the new boss. Same as the old boss.

So Jerry has been behind our excellent drafts the last 5 years? Awesome.

Risk losing the player over a 7th rounder? Hardly worth it, Jerry made the right call.

Agreed. A bird in the hand is better than two in the bush.

If you really like a player, you should just pick them IMO. In 5 years, there's a good chance the human you acquired with that extra 7th will be working at Two Men and a Truck. Getting cute is how we missed out on Steven Jackson. Still not over that.

He's been working for the team for more than a score. It's been only in the last few years that he's been able to exercise his power and jerry has relented. I'd say he's earned the right. Regardless of his genealogy.
He's definitely more shrewd than his wildcatter pops.

Yeah, I can't agree. He was basically born into his position. Years of on-the-job training may have made him suited to it by now (truthfully, his rise in influence does seem to coincide with an improvement in drafting) but he hasn't really 'earned' anything. Good for him (perhaps) that he hasn't had to. One thing's for certain: his position alone doesn't give him the credentials to stand above reproach.

When it comes to personnel and cap management, without exception. When it comes to marketing and merchandising, jerry reigns supreme among all nfl others. Though some think Jerry was just lucky drilling holes in the ground, turning a 140 million investment into the most valued sports franchise in history wasn't luck.

Argumentum ad hominem seems to be your schtick. I have no desire to play.

We judge from our experiences. What qualifies you to judge the VP of a billion dollar a year corporation? The fact you post on the zone? Hardly the stuff of a great resume.
We judge on the quality of the product we consume much like I would patronizing any business.

I don’t need to be a mechanic to determine if a vehicle needs repair or service or a cook to know entree wasn’t prepared well.

Film critics aren’t producers, directors or actors. Do you need more examples?

It appears to be a typical Mom and Pop operation to me where the most qualified aren’t necessarily running the business. Earning the right doesn’t make him the right choice.

Nobody has earned the job there. It's always been about who Jerry likes. Does it drive anyone else crazy that the grandkids are in the war room?

In each example you listed some might like the movie or meal. Opinions are like elbows. Everyone has them. A bad running auto is another thing.

Typical mom and pop enterprises aren't worth 5 billion bucks.
