The Cowboys had a very good draft. Pollard, both Jacksons and Wilson all make the 53. Weber might.

They said they had a higher grade on Weber, like a 4th or 5th rounder. That isn't bad and for the guy to be the 2nd or 3rd RB and get 3 - 5 carries per game, you have to think he could do it coming out of a program like Ohio State.

Unless they sign a FA right before camp, I think Weber has a very good chance at making the 53.

Hill (starts),
McGovern (hard to say how much he plays),
Pollard (play all 16 games),
M Jackson (IMO, much like Jnes can play any DB spot, being groomed for FS, will play)
Guyton (he's your 6th WR - Cooper / Gallup / Cobb / Wilson / Austin / Guyton)

PS - Jenkins is an odd Duck - mediocre stats
played too much DT (about half his college snaps) at 6-5 260
makes plays and has impact, brings a bull rush outside, and plays the ball well
IMO, he's as good as Armstrong or Jackson, quicker off blocks

Zeke, Pollard, Webber does sound good, but if Zeke goes down for an extended time, you're now relying on two rookies to help get us where we want to be. And that's why I see Webber going to the practice squad. Dont get me wrong it's a win win to me, because I like both Jackson and Webber.

If Webers leg is okay, he makes the team. He could possibly be the best complete we have on the roster after zeke.

I doubt it. We have Jackson and Chunn, and I doubt they're going to sweat losing a 7th round RB if they cut him. A dime a dozen. He's going to the PS, only to be called up if Zeke misses a game.

I'll say Pollard ousts Tavon Austin from the lineup and Joe Jackson replaces Taco or causes him to be traded. Trysten Hill replaces Maliek.

Unlike some years when the roster is built for the future and guys are kept to see their upside, this year the team has high expectations...higher than they’ve had in a few years. While they won’t be foolish, I really believe that this team, that reportedly practices as hard as any team in the NFL, will keep the players who perform best in camp and preseason. Draft pick, free agent, rookie, veteran....won’t carry much weight. I think the 53 will be guys who have a chance to dress and serve a purpose THIS YEAR as starter, rotation, special teams, or trusted depth.

I won’t be surprised to see undrafted FA’s make the team over drafted players, nor will I be surprised to see a veteran who has served us well and might deserve better be cut loose if a young guy shows he can play this year. You may even see a released vet signed before the season at the expense of a young guy who might have potential for the future.

Again, they won’t be foolish, but I think this is the year guys aren’t kept on the 53 who aren’t ready to play with an eye just on the future. This year it’s all about performance and the W’s, and that is a great message to every player who’s busting his butt.

Take your best guess at which Rookies make the team and which ones don't.
I tnink Wilson makes the team. I think he has a chance to start down the road. Special teams and spot duty this year then say goodbye to someone next year. To see how McClay gushed about him , he couldn't stop smiling , as he feels he really got a steal and is just trying to keep it a secret.

Totally agree with Weber being the next best complete back behind Zeke.

I know Darius Jackson has less then admirable hands and struggles in blitz pick up. Weber can catch but I dont about his blocking as of yet.

It will be hard for Wilson and Webber to make the 53 and stay there the whole year. Just my opinion. I do like both of those guys though.

How is it hard for Weber to make the 53? Our TB depth is pretty pitiful right now. Unless his knee is banged up or he totally sucks, he's going to be on the 53 as a backup TB IMO.

I say that because he was a low round draft pick and because of Garrett's history. He doesn't give too many young players a chance on the offensive side of the ball. Especially low round picks. Dak only got his chance because of injury. Gallup got his chance because the other WR were ineffective. He tries to bring young guys into the mix slowly. But I dont think he'll like the idea of two rookies backing up Zeke. Heck I like Weber better than Pollard.

ruling out injury...here it goes. Mitch Hyatt, Larry Allen Jr, Joe and Mike Jackson, Jalen Jelks, Wise,Guyton. That's it. I think ultimately Weber may get cut due to injury...but I hope not. Obviously McGovern is staying.

That might be true but that's probably outweighed by the fact we have zero real depth at TB behind Elliott.

Little chance Allen Jr makes the 53 unless there is a ton of injuries to interior OL.

I am pulling for Donovan Wilson to make the team but his best fit right away will be special teams. Westry has a long road to hoe.

INJURY ALWAYS controls the narrative. This offseason, camp and preseason will be no different.
