Cooper waiting for Julio Jones deal?

You guys keep talking about who should be getting paid what. It just doesn’t work like that. The highest paid left tackle in the league has never made a Pro Bowl let alone a All Pro. And if you factor in what Julio and Cooper did last year and how old they are? Cooper may get more than that.

Based on that logic, Zeke, Cooper, Dak, Jaylon and then LVE should all be paid the highest in the league. It doesn’t work like that either. I think Solder was the highest paid LT but the Giants had the money and were dumb enough to pay him that much. The Cowboys won’t have the money to pay all their better players the most money for that position.

Don’t get me wrong, we need Cooper but he isn’t on the same level as JJ and if JJ gets the biggest contract for a receiver and Cooper wants something equivalent then that’s an issue IMO. Like the article states, Cooper has the upper hand right now.

stop wtih the comparisons, or whos thinking what. we dont know. who knows what ACs agent is telling him. A deal will get done ad we ll live. whatever happens will happen.
Thanks for your contribution, why even bother posting if your answer to everything will be “whatever happens will happen”? You could literally say that about any comment or post that hypothesizes about the future of this team.

Daks not in the same league as QBs hes going to get paid like but that's just how it works.
Ok, so who goes? Again, you could literally say that about a good percentage of players on this team. At some point, you can’t pay everyone top dollar.

That is how it works. You sign guys to big contracts and if you don’t have the money you let them walk. Byron or Zeke will more than likely not be on this team.

Ok, that’s a fair answer. Just curious what you thought of Cooper getting equivalent money to other top receivers in the league when he’s not even top 3 whereas Zeke is. I happen to agree about letting Zeke walk after the 5th year option and franchise tag.

It will also be interesting to see what they do with Jaylon if he has another great year.

Elliott goes if it comes down to Lord Byron vs him. RB's are too plentiful and that's the easiest position to transition in from college.

However, I think this brain trust is still thinking triplets so I think all 3 are extended and then it becomes questionable what they can do about critical pieces of the D.

Ugh, I hope you’re not right but I could see that happening.

Exactly. That is why draft picks are so valuable. Sure we have Amari Cooper. But now he's one more position we have to pay top dollar immediately or we lose him.

This aspect of team building in the cap era is something the Jones boys have never really grasped.

The last part is more relevant to these negotiations than whether Cooper is on the same level as JJ. We saw what the offense looked like last year before AC, and so did his agent.
