I know a lot of people that get drunk and don't act like that. I have a buddy that when he gets drunk he thinks he's the world's biggest peacemaker. So he'll inject himself into a situation and try to reason with everyone like he's negotiating a hostage release. He absolutely would not have reacted like Elliott did if he were drunk.

So I think it's a natural question to ask............ what was said? Has it been reported anywhere that the guy said something vile that required Elliott to get in his face and body block him?

People do horrible things to innocent people every day. People get killed over misunderstandings every day. So again, I will ask you, what was said? You don't even know.

that's fair. Its like truth serum almost. It enhances or brings out ones personality, good or bad...does booze. I have a hunch Zeke's personality isn't very good in the first place and the drinking only magnifies that aspect.

Yes, it is but the league office sees a video pop up from a web site with more hits than their own and has to ask themselves "what doesn't this guy get"?

While some here feel the league office just can't wait to get their hands on another Cowboy, I think it's the opposite. Don't do anything that forces us to get involved. I'd bet there are other instances brought to their attention that we never know about because it wasn't made public and didn't force them into doing anything. One thing the NFL cannot do is be thought to be looking the other way. And it is all about image and when they started losing ratings don't think there wasn't come panic setting in with the owners because that's where the real money is.

There is a reason why they do not allow any active member of the NFL to be involved with any alcohol ads or endorsements. People know some players take a drink but you put one of the star players in a video walking around obviously drunk and that reflects on the image the NFL strives to protect. Those sponsors and contract advertisers expect the league to police their own as they're seen as endorsers of the NFL.

It definitely does apply to. I don’t disagree with people that say he is messing up but personally I think folks grandstand and virtue signal a lot esp online. Saying Zeke is messing up esp in regards to how the nfl does business is a no expletive comment to me and that’s why I don’t really get the point of saying them. That’s just never been how I was raised so it seems strange to me. In fairness maybe others were raised differently and or that’s how they get their feeling of importance and I have to be more understanding on that front.

You really think Cowboy fans want to see the star players fail even though those are the players most capable of helping the team win? That's nonsense. The obvious frustration is when a player does things to jeopardize his ability and opportunity to help the team win. I think that's the point you and future ignore.

Nobody was talking this way about Emmitt, or even DeMarco Murray or Zeke in 2016. They were thrilled to see those guys succeed, and help the team succeed. Nobody wanted them to fail. The difference isn't that fans have suddenly become self-righteous at this moment in time with this player, it's that this player at this moment in time is showing a pattern of behavior that could jeopardize his ability to succeed and help the team succeed.

Again, fans invest a lot of time, emotion and money into the NFL and the teams they are a fan of, and, in fact, Zeke would not have a job and the Cowboys would not exist if that weren't the case. That's why it's important to fans.

Totally agree.

I think booze heightens his ego and the fact he's a NFL superstar just plays into it. Basically, who the *** are you to question me type stuff.

People desperate to defend Elliott here latched onto the twitter rumor that the security guard said something and I guess just assumed it was worthy of that kind of reaction. Maybe the security guard just said, "dude, you need to relax........"

Does that warrant the Elliott reaction? Nope. Not even close. And given Zeke's track record of idiocy at times, I think there's a pretty good chance that if the guard had said something, it didn't warrant the reaction it got. In other words, drunk Elliott was acting like a dip**** again all full of beer muscles and playing the tough guy act.

The guard injected himself into s situation that had nothing to do with him. So the guard was wrong for chiming in and Zeke was wrong for pushing him.

sure does. I think we all see the real Zeke and frankly, I dont like it. Not sure he fits what we want from that position anymore...especially if the scheme is more passing and spread. Depends on how Pollard plays. It could make it easier for us to move on from the troubled Zeke...

And no, unless the guard said something vile, no he was not wrong. In fact, telling a guy to calm down, for example, IS PRECISELY HIS JOB as a security guard. Holy hell, people.

he must understand better who he is and whom he plays for. Its much bigger than him and this stupid incident. No more excuses for Zeke.He's all out.

I dont know. You dont know. We dont know. It looked like a setup to me from the beginning. So the guard and cameraman could sell the tape to TMZ for thousands of dollars.
 
IMO RG OWES Zeke for that sham of 6 game suspension when multi players who've done worst got zilch.. that DB lb in Washington etc for instance.. they need to fine him and not make big deal out pof it..they actually owe him a pass for this ridiculous flop caught on camera, sure zeke got close should have walked away but this goes on with normal people every weekend night out especially in Vegas and nothing at all happens in real life....camera running that long I feel it was set up they yelled some derogatory comment to get him to turn around and come back.,..i would have ive had this happen few years back at ST Paddy day block party and all they did is ask people to leave that were getting load and close to fighting.. people instigate real easy when out drinking just bump into someone could turn into a nose to nose party and no big deal walk way or leave establishment.. so hes a Super star doesnt mean he needs to be punished for that carap..
