The most requested moniker back then would have been OhNoDanny.
I am not a complete homer but I do have the tendency to give Cowboys players the benefit of the long time fanhood. I had to accept Sanders, Pacman, Bryant, Owens, Hardy and Gregory once they became Cowboys and look the other way and not at the person as much as the uniform.
Some of that Romorooter stuff I got, the dating stars, the golf, Cabo and especially the cap on backwards and his fat butt. All convenient hate arrows. But with Prescott, I don't get it except for one thing and I try not to let my mind go there. Except for that inconsistent accuracy issue, which may be curable, what's not to like. He didn't take Romo's job, the team gave it to him.
It's always been my theory that the team got lazy with him because of that Houdini act. So what if I matador this block, he'll escape. When they got the 3rd stringer in there, no time for slough blocks or dogging any plays because we've got nothing behind this kid and he didn't have that "Hollywood" persona that some might not have liked. This kid lost his Mom a couple of years ago and he's easy to pull for and besides that he immediately embraced the toughest role of every young QB in the NFL, leadership. It was that trait that kept him in as the QB1. This 4th round kid that no one ever expected to be starting was actually not only doing that but leading. It is that trait in him that kept the QB1 job in high school and at Miss. St.
Every QB is going to make mistakes, miss the easy play, and some withdraw as Romo used to do all down on himself on that bench but Prescott is that QB that every player wants, the guy that doesn't give up, the fighter than just keeps getting up off the mat. There's no quit in him and there's a lot to like about him so I am pulling for some more progress because he's the DC QB1 regardless of how I feel or what I want.
