Yeah, we try to copy them, but we try to copy their 2 TE sets and obsession w/ CB's. Here's some of the things that really make them successful.

1. Continuously draft OL and DL.
2. Make sure to have replacements in place for players who will want a huge salary.
3. Do the opposite of what most of the NFL is doing. This allows you to find useful players all over the draft. Belly's 3-4 wasn't everywhere, so he was getting players who fit his system all over the draft. When the NFL switched to the 3-4, Belly went back to the 4-3, so he's still finding useful players all over the draft. He was doing that 2 TE set, so when everyone started switching, he's now going for WR's and is using a pass catching RB profusely.
4. Even if they don't play more than half the time, make sure to have a huge dude for the middle, to put a stop to O's like the Rams. Stop that run up the middle, and it's going to be a bit more difficult.
5. Always have a good stout OL in place. Always.
6. Don't overpay players. It kills you pretty quick.

Anything I missed? I know, I know, it helps tremendously to have a top 5 all time HC and QB, I get that. And that's a huge part of why they win. However, there are other things that can be done.

"Anything I missed?"

Only a few minor details:

Have a competent GM not a glorified circus conductor
Have a real HC not a spineless jellyfish
Have discipline and accountability
Have a QB who can throw the ball effectively

You know, minor details like those

to learn from the pats you have to have big bill he and brady are the difference a great head coach is able to take a franchise a long way see jimmy Johnson and tom landry it takes talent but it takes a great coach and that is why the cowboys will never win a championship with garrett as the head coach

Don't have a set philosophy on either offense or defense. Be adaptable to exploit weaknesses of you opposition that week.

You may throw the ball 50 times one week and run the ball 45 times the next week.

You may run a base 4-3 one week and a 5-2 the next week (like the Pats did against the Rams). Or go straight nickel all game. Exploit the weaknesses of the opposing offense.

This idea of pounding Zeke 25 times a game no matter your opponent won't work. Create new schemes every single week to exploit oppositions weaknesses and keep them off balance.

This stuff is over Jason Garrett's head.

We should learn absolutely positively nothing from the Pats. There have been plenty of teams try and learn from them and have failed. All of the ex-assistants that get head coaching jobs implement the Patriots way and it fails.

Dak Prescott throws the football better than Tom Brady did that first championship run. But aye........let's pretend like he was always the best quarterback in the league lol.

Actually, ksk, stephen's been doing those things lately. Getting bigger at the tackle position. Good depth at wr, d-backs, o-line and d-line. Zeke catching passes. Brought in Pollard. Guys like William's and McGovern setting us up to deal with big deals for o-line personnel. Not there yet, but improving. Two more coaches need to go.

Bill Belichick has accomplished nothing without Tom Brady.
He went to the playoffs with Cassel and had a winning record when Brady was suspended. Other than that, he hasn't had to win without him but I have little doubt he would. Brady is great, Belichick is greater. Brady has had a top 10 run game and D every time he won it, every time.

Look, I don't like him but I can't do anything but admire what he's done and no one, not even his minions, have come close to duplicating it. There's only one guy that has figured out how to build and more importantly, maintain, a true contender during the cap era.
