In an attempt to survive the lull before training camp, I'm wondering what your game day traditions are.

Game days, for basically all of my life, have involved a bag of chips, soda and the TV. Well, and I've always been the "signal" guy. When I was little, I was the one who had to stand next to the TV to move the rabbit ears if we lost the signal. Now I'm the one who has to find the game streaming somewhere online if we loose the signal. I always watched the game with my dad..or called him when we lived too far away. My wife would join in sometime later. I guess as reward for me doing most of the cooking at home, my wife has always made sure I have an abundant supply of chips and soda during the game. The last 10 years or so I have been grilling before the games, too.

My traditional game day routine isn't that extravagant. But I always look forward to the games.

What's your routine?

OH...and as an aside...I want to let you all know that I am pretty sure I can guarantee a Superbowl victory this year. I found my 1992 Cowboys t-shirt in a bin in the attic and plan on wearing it on game days. It's still in great shape even though it seems to have shrunk while sitting in the attic. I'm sure it's not the chips and soda.

Routine:
Wake up, and be glad I woke up.
Make coffee, look on here to see how many will say we will lose become of the usual stuff.

Look for @Ranching thread for what is on the menu. This is a must for all.

Usually will watch any local Cowboys shows, or the ones I recored from the night before.
Flip around the channels ESPN and NFLN until 10:30 CST when the Live game day show is on locally. Then at 11:00 flip between FOX, CBS, SEPN, NFLN and look through threads on here.

Don't really have any traditions I adhere too as same shirt, same this or that. Except my coffee mug. Whichever one I use, I use each week if they win. If they lose, I switch mugs. But this year I may use the same mug no matter what. But may buy me a new one to use.

If I come across a '92 coffee mug, I'll send it to you.

I wake up on Sundays during football season at 8AM. Not a minute sooner, not a minute later. I have a cup of coffee and watch NFL Access on NFL Network. I drive to the grocery store by my house and buy a jug of iced tea, beer, and whatever snacks I'm feeling like that particular day.

I watch the entire Cowboy game standing up, because my nerves won't allow me to sit and watch. If the game ends early enough and we win like we're supposed to, I finish the night with a cigar and bourbon. I have zero friends that follow the Cowboys and/or are Cowboys fans, so I typically watch the game alone. My best friends are Eagles, Steelers, and Panthers fans.

Well I am fortunate that we attend, well, Ive been from anywhere from 2-9 games in a season. If we are in Dallas, we have a routine. Sunday morning, we go get breakfast at a diner cafe about 1 mile from the stadium. Back to hotel and check in(we stay in Dallas Sat. and Arlington on Sun. We get to the tailgate we attend with people that have become friends over the years. We tailgate for several hours and watch the other games going on all the while eating, drinking, and just having a great time with people from all over the country... and even Canada. Then to the game.

When at home in Ca. I get up at about 7am, start watching the pregame shows to update myself on injury status for my fantasy football team. Watch early gameson 2 different TVs, and stay up on my fantasy team until Cowboys game. I have no meal for game day. I actually normally watch the actual game by myself. I dont like all the chatter from casual fans.

My tradition is not wearing the same gear for the rest of season after a loss. And continuing to wear same gear until we lose.

No real traditions. Usually hit church, then come back and prepare for family or friends to come by for the game, or head out to a family member’s humble abode. Usually a menu for game day snacks and main meal set up during the week. Beer. Wine for the wife.

Oh, the wife part... she’s a diehard Steeler’s fan, as is her family. My side is all Cowboy’s. So it’s a house divided.

Hoping we switch before the end of summer back to Direct TV from Suddenlink and get Sunday Ticket so she can catch all her games too. It’s a blast to have to follow two teams, even if ya hate one of them.

Watch the game ALONE ( especially avoiding in-laws ). Over the years, people who I know me, know I DO NOT attend any events or answer any phones ( short of lift threating). Just ask my mom, kids, dog or wife......LOL.

Other words, if you need me for anything......it better happen before game-time.

Tape it on my trusty VCR and watch later sans the commercials. Takes me about 50 minutes to watch a game.

Avoid all the chicken feces celebrations after routine catches n runs...really gets old watching these tools today.

I'm ok for celebrations when the situation and catch/run are great...routine plays not so much.

Go Cowboys!
