Cobb's yards per target in 2018 were worse than any WR or TE still with the team. Including Rico.
Everyone is saying how wonderful he is here. Such great chemistry with Dak. Maybe it's true. Maybe he was injured last year and is fully healthy now.
But in Cobb's last *4* years with Aaron Rogers as QB he was mediocre in ypt, with his *best* season at 7.3. That only beats Schultz, Brown, and Gathers in 2018.
Repeat. Cobb's *best* ypt in the last four years only beats Schultz, Brown, and Gathers.
We shouldn't be banking on Cobb as a major threat.
And note that the NFL free agent market sure as hell didn't think Cobb was an upgrade over Beasley.
Cobb's issue was 2018 when he played through an injury and missed 7 games.
Taking out 2018 for Cobb makes an easy comparison with Beasley
because it's then the same number of years.
Below is a comparison of Cobb and Beasley for the first 7 years of their careers.
Cobb is better in all of the categories/years below except Yards per Game in 2016.
Note: 2011/12 is 2011 for Cobb and 2012 for Beasley.
