how does Gambling equate to money in the NFL's pockets? If Dak is right about that gambling money being factored into player salaries, I'm fine with paying everybody now.

Absolutely. We have good cap money now. So pay them now and when new money kicks in then they give us fans some money. If Dak is right about that gambling money being factored into player salaries, I'm fine with paying everybody now.

I have an uneasy feeling that if we pay Dak what he wants, after a couple years we're going to start going downhill. In other words, he's basically trying to justify why he shouldn't or doesn't have to take a team friendly deal to try to keep the band all together.
And note, I don't fault him for wanting every penny he can get. But the reality is, this team is going to have to make some tough choices on contracts coming up if they pay Dak what he wants.
If, in fact, that gambling money is going to factor in, the salary cap is going to experience a huge jump. And if that's the case, I'd be working hard to get contracts done well ahead of it, having more money down the road when the contracts are really exploding. They might look like overpaying with regard to the current cap, but they will be bargains when that influx of money comes rolling in. If you are sure that will be the case, do your deals now.
I hear your point, but there’s a problem. If the cap does have a significant jump up (higher than normal), then it will just lead to more premature player hold-outs for those that were ‘taken care of’ before the cap jump. At the end of the day, we’ll be right back here...bigger numbers, but still a ‘everyone can’t get theirs’ situation.
Bingo. They have already mentioned Dak and Elliot contracts early. Cooper will get his. O-Line is been paid and are still drafting to keep the trenches young. Working on the Defense. Wrap the elite up early. And I am not getting into whether Dak is elite or not. The owner and GM believes it and that’s what matters. Elliot is elite as long as he stays out of trouble. Cooper is doing great as #1 WR and we have Gallup who could become a #1 also. Wilson is supposed to be good also. Haven’t seen him or Pollard take a snap yet but we are moving in the right direction. If we can get ahead start then do it for certain players.Possibly. But I think you'd still be in a better position if you got them done early. A guy under contract for multiple years has little if any leverage.
Great advice. Let the agent do the talking. No sense coming across as the fool or bad guy. Seems so simple. Now he's coming across as greedy.Dak. You're making yourself sound like a moron. Just shut up and play.
Yep tricky paying near top dollar for not near top QB. We wouldn’t do it for any other position on the team.If it's true that the new CBA will probably pay Pat Mahomes between $50-60 million, then paying Dak $35 now might be smart.
The problem is, if you only give him a 3-year deal, you might have to pay $50 million for him later anyway just to keep the status quo if he doesn't mature into an elite player.
It's a tricky situation.

An argument can be made Jerry Jones self-determined Prescott’s franchise quarterback status as early as third month of the rookie season. The current contract negotiation is simply a formality Jones had committed to making come true since that time. Prescott will get paid. The only question is how far the contract will blow off socks.Go 5-7 years. JJ and SJ want him to be the franchise.
Even Jeff heath?

There's no way of knowing the final outcome, but dak will be paid very well. Just like zack and tank. The key is figuring out how to minimize the cap hit.Yep
So much for the team friendly deal Stephen was suggesting.

I was hoping Stephen would be tough on this one. Otherwise his words were meaningless. There's no way of knowing the final outcome, but dak will be paid very well. Just like zack and tank. The key is figuring out how to minimize the cap hit.
