Hmmmm.

It's actually an intriguing concept and it really puts an added layer of strategy for coaches/front office.

Such as, would you play Dak in the 16 games you were most comfortable winning and then sit him for what would be your two toughest games, or would you play Rush or White for what would be your two easiest games, hoping they would be able to pull out a win?

The requirement of 16 game limit per player is to attempt to prevent "load management" NBA style. The NFLPA shouldn't agree to minimum 16 game per player, if any sport requires "load management" it is the NFL. These guys take a BEATING!

I think a minutes cap of 120 minutes would be better.

What I am saying is that a player playing in a game shouldn't count if a player got injured during the opening kickoff and unable to return. Also, there have been some games where the game is over after the 3rd quarter. If a team sits out their qb 4 times in the 4th quarter, that is a full game right there.

With a 16 game limit per player.

Thoughts...

1) Would eliminate the need for a bye week, right?

2) There's an argument that 16 is already too many. Let's use this concept to rewind the clock, and make it 14 games for any one player per season.

3) Would only logically make it important to expand rosters by some number, no?

4) Any mention of applying a game limit to head coaches???

Hate this idea as a fan. I can afford one game a year. What if that game happens to be one where we decide to sit Zeke, Dak, or any of our other stars?
While a valid concern, I think this is less of an issue than the NBA. Football games are still quite watchable without any one player, regardless of how great they may be. You can't say the same about say, the Lebron era Cleveland Cavaliers.

I would play my best players until playoff is secured or let an injury cover the two required game have to sit

I think you’re going to see that for sure. Play your starters as many games early in the season as you can and try to clinch a playoff spot.
