I take my last question back. You're neither a lawyer nor a law enforcement officer despite having gone to law school and have a CJ degree. You lack a basic understanding of how the system works in some DA's offices.
I know exactly how it works. and I know exactly how police charge people with resisting and obstruction all day long. Those are the easy ones... I was trying to put cuffs on you and you slightly moved away from me... bam, resisting. Not hard. The DA can do what they want, and the DA obviously saw this for what it was.... garbage. Thats why the case was dropped. I wish we could see body cam footage of this to see how this entire thing went down. This is not likely not that different than what cops do on traffic stops. Can I search you car? No? Ok, well sir I smell the scent of marijuana emitting from your vehicle, Im gonna have to ask you to step out of your vehicle so we can proceed to serach your car........how does one argue that the cop didnt "smell," something?

In Brent’s position what would it matter if they were lying in that moment? If an officer comes up to you and says you fit a description of a criminal they’re looking for, and you clearly aren’t him, does that give you privilege to fight off the cop until he goes away?
fight(i dont mean a
is that what happened here? Officers were looking for someone and Brett fit the description???? I didnt see that.
IN your example, no. You should almost always comply with police. You arent winning any fight, 9I dont mean a physical fight) with police. JUst zip your mouth, dont talk, and moce to where they tell you.

* funny,as I recall sitting in a bar having a beer with a couple of buddy's, when two cops came in & said I matched the description of a subject who'd took off afoot& outran them,,,SHEESE! half the bar said it wasn't me, but if they hung around a little longer, they could nab me on impaired driving when I left,,,ya,thanks a pant load for covering for me,gang,,,they all thought it was funny,I saw no humour in ito_O

I'm surprised reading some of the reactions in this thread that the officers didn't throw you on the floor, cuff you and charge you with resisting arrest.

:lmao:lmao,,,I've never "went out of my way" in trying to buddy up with cops, but,I don't give them a hassle either,in fact,I do my level best in outright avoiding them:lmao:

*I'm fairly certain I wouldn't enjoy or be very good at a shift cops job.

I dont hassle cops either, and I like you, would prefer to never speak or interact with cops while they are on duty. This is why if I do interact with police, it is only through their doing. Due to any interaction with police being the result of THEM coming to me for some reason, I will only do what is legally required of me by law. Does this mean that I am "Hassling them?" or " Giving them a hard time?" I would argue the opposite. If I have dne what I am legally required to do, such as show license, registration, and prrof of insurance, at that point, ANY further questioning of me, after I have told them I will not answer any of their questions from this point on... I would argue is them harassing me. NO? and if you feel that refusing to answer their questions is me harassing them, please explain how that is so?

Somehow I think if I told some cops I was drunk, they would probably investigate further.

So he was just being an idiot, not following instructions from a law enforcement. Okay we got it. He's just dumb?

But if he is just dumb and maybe playing the mental health angle, why would Jerry ever hire him to scout anyone? Oh, he's Jerry.

Cuz'yer overt actions of pulling down the shades,is perceived as a hard time hassle to them, by yer' non compliance of their politely relayed requests, thusly, yer' more likely to get that "come to Jesus camp tune-up meeting" from Mister Tazer's twin horny flying nipple clamps,,,ya,you really ought not be hassling those cop's, like you do,@Reid1boys ,,,o_O

Is this a serious post? I mean like did you forget the sarcasm emoji?

Hate crimes are a violation of your civil rights for what it’s worth
So in all seriousness as I see that it obviously means a lot to you. Someone kills a person of Pakistani descent and then someone kills an Irishman. Is one death treated differently than the other and if so why?

Subsequent tests showed no booze in his system so what were they smelling? ;)
they were just doing as they have been shown by th emore Sr officers. They just make stuff up. Think it isnt true..... take a look at youtube and you can find dozens of videos of police themselves saying they will make something up to innitiate a stop. Im not making this stuff up.

why is it so hard for you to believe that police lie. They lie during their interactions, they lie on their reports and they lie in court. This is not something thats made up, it is a fact.
I am sure they lie, rude boy, but on the whole, the other side, the criminal side lie every time they open their mouths.
I guess when beset by criminals you instead call other criminals to quell the disturbance. That is all good, bloke, but you might be in the minority.
You ever watch "Cops" where the DUI suspects "swears to god" he was not driving or does not remember if he took the beer without paying or tells the officer he gave his wife a "swat" to get her off of him?

Rude boy? 2 things. I do not want to be botherd by police, unless they have a lawful reason to speak with me. When they have a reason to speak with me, I will do all that I am required to do by the law. That is all I will do. I am sorry if you think that is being rude. I find it rude for Police to prolong a stop searching for stuff that isnt there. I prefer to be left alone so I can go about my business.

In my 49 years on this earth I have needed to call police 1 time, and it wasnt for their help. It was so they could file a police report since someone broke into my car. Your example about cops is not what Im referring to. I have zero issue with the police doing their jobs. A person who is DUI deserves to be arrested and if they give the police reason to suspect them of DUI, I completely respect the officers authority to investigate and make an arrest.

But if they are pulling me over for some mundane traffic infraction... thats all that is, a traffic infraction. Ill give them what they need, and the they can take all the BS questions about where Im headed or where Im coming from and shove them up their arse.

I didn't mean to write rude boy. More like proud boy.
Go forth and battle the evils of society. You walk alone at night without protection, without succor from law enforcement, yet you thrive, proud boy of the landscape! Proud boy don't need no help from the fuzz!
