They were 26th last year in the red zone and were 7th in 2017. How much did the absence of Witten play into the red zone woe's last year? I never really considered Witten to be a red zone threat but that's just my opinion. What do you think Moore needs to do inside the 20 that they failed to do last year? Think about how many points you leave on the field when your ranked 26th in the red zone and how that determines wins and losses. I do know that they need to get Zeke involved more and by that I mean catching the ball and so forth.........

More creative playcalling will help; as will the return of Witten, a healthier offensive line, and having Cooper for an entire season.

Or, maybe the Cowboys don't need to be so creative. How many times did they throw the ball around the goalline last year when all they had to do was turn around and give the ball to Zeke two, three, or four times if need be?

This is why I'm eager to see Kellen Moore's approach.

Getting Frederick back is going to make a big difference by itself.

Beyond that, I think this is where Moore can make a difference with some creative play design. It should be easy with this collection of talent. Dak and Zeke are both redzone threats. There's a bunch of guys that should be able to take advantage of that even if they can't quite offer a consistent third threat themselves.

Positives:
Frederick coming back
William's extra experience and weight
Replacing Linehan

Negatives:
Downgrading at slot
An extra year of touches on Zeke

Addition by subtraction - Linehan gone.

Fredbeard back. Oline healthy.

The goal line should be all about Dak. He can run and throw on the move.

I'm for going very jumbo with our quality oline depth and giving Dak simple read options on Zeke and Cooper.

Dak, Zeke, Cooper,
Smith, McGovern, Fredbeard, Martin, Collins
Williams, Looney

If we still had Beasley, I'd give him one side of the field, but besides Cooper, I don't see a guy I'm counting on to beat double teams.

I'm not sure about the 11th.

It really should be Rico as a serious blocking and post up threat.
Maybe Fleming.
Maybe Hill at FB.

Put hat on hat for blocking, and let 3 unblocked defenders try to take Dak, Zeke, and Cooper.

Single man on Zeke or Cooper seems like a win to me. No matter what the defense does with their 3 free, I see 2/3 wins for us.

Use our players right, and we should be damn near unstoppable.

With Witten back and KM at the OC helm, the red-zone problems fixes itself. Some of you think Dak can't throw in tight windows but this season you'll find out that he actually can.

Dak himself has to improve in this area. As of right now defenses only have to defend the GL as our QB is not comfortable throwing it into the endzone from close range. But even with this negative Dallas should be better than 26th.

2 TE personnel gives offense the most flexibility. Dak can audible to multiple plays based on the defense without having to swap personnel. 2 Set allows you to run power, iso, zone-runs, boot leg, read-option,. motion either TE / RB out for specific route
