Yes anytime a good player asks for money our feelings get hurt and we want to trade them, lol. Good thing the Cowboys don't always listen to our fan base otherwise we would be putting out Mike White, handing off to Mike Weber this season.

Honestly, I don't think this is true. I mean, a lot of good players have asked for more money, over the years. That's not new.

Our rushing game in 2015 gave us a chance to win as it was top 10 in the league and better than the rushing game with Zeke in 2018.
Our passing game was dead last and was the reason we lost in 2015.

We haven’t had a back like Zeke since Emmitt. People keep acting like we can win with any back. I guess you can survive with a mediocre back, but I’ll take the stud player any day. Obviously we have a cap, but the line is set for years so they should try their best to keep these triplets together for at least 5 years.

Dak has had a tremendous start to his career and will keep getting better. People that act like he’s a bum are nuts.

Lets win a superbowl before we start talking about breaking up the team.

you are correct, Zeke is a good back.
the question is, can we make him play for us if his asking price is not OK'd?

I just don't get why Dallas can't have Dak AND Zeke? I think they go together pretty well. Dallas has their line locked up for a while as well as defensive talent. Sign one of Amari/Jaylon/Byron, keep drafting well (our track record since 2010 is pretty good), and they SHOULD win at least one Super Bowl, assuming Garrett is gone. I say from 2019-2024 is a legit Super Bowl window.

It's not about wishing talent away. It's about understanding the concept of returns on investment, cap implications, etc.

People need to get out of this silly world where just because some fans think it's OK to let a player go, that means they hate the player. That's not the case for most. It's simply about understanding the reality that paying a TB a huge amount of money might not be the smartest thing in the world. It also could have implications for other players down the road - Byron Jones, Jaylon Smith, etc.

In terms of return on investment, as I showed in other threads, over the last decade or so, there has only been one team that won a SB with what you might call an elite TB - The Seahawks with Marshawn Lynch. But in that case, Russell Wilson wasn't making a ton of money himself.

Which brings us to another situation.......... if you think our QB is so money, so great, so worthy of $32MM+, then it doesn't make a ton of sense to pay your TB close to $20MM a year because "he's the engine" that drives the car.

Because in this world, you really can't sign every single player you draft that turns into a stud. The cap won't allow it if you want to build a well rounded team.

Well, let me walk that back........ sure, you could pay all your 9-10 elite level players but then you have little cap space to fill out the roster with good players so you get a top heavy team that lacks any consistency and depth.

We had a core of players in the 90s we paid and won a couple of Super Bowls. This is no different, the same concept.
