Broaddus is a moron. He's got as much access as any of us do.

I did meet him at The Star in that exclusive private country club lounge thing the one random time I was there (the marketing group and Vegas Raiders were hosting my brother and I got to tag along, get on the field, meet Jerry, Staubach in that underground crazy baller club thing under the stadium and was even in a Cowboys suite for that Saints game). It actually annoyed me to see Mickey there, lol. He's at least a nice guy with access. I think he means on the day to day in that tweet

Always heard that Romo was helping him and drawing things up to show Dak. Hmmm

I do recall a fairly well known clip and even Dak has spoken about it where I think the Cowboys were successful on same play/setup and Tony took him aside and said something like, hey they are know going to look for that, this D coordinator is going to do X, Y or Z so be prepared and here's how you can react...and it worked.

As others have said - he was working on his back, not in meeting rooms. That injury is no joke.

This type of aloofness is why Romo lost the locker room. How do you expect Garrett to give him his starting role back if he wasn't around at all for that '16 season?

Even with Tony Romo out of the building, Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott maintains he had a strong relationship with the departed franchise legend.

"I mean, Tony did an amazing job of helping me out. I think that's what Tony realized is that, he couldn't necessarily control whether he was going to play or not. But what he can control is our relationship," Prescott said Wednesday on The Rich Eisen Show.

"And I think Tony did a great job, and I commend Tony and thank him so much for that -- of being another coach for me, of helping me out, of in the middle of the game, at practice, on the field [and] off the field, giving me advice. And as a guy who went through exactly what I went through -- taking over the position from an older veteran, and knowing what it's like to be the quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys, and just helping me out."

Prescott said Romo never made their relationship awkward.

"It truly never did [get uncomfortable]. And that's why I say I commend him," Prescott said. "I don't know how he felt personally. I mean, obviously I know as much of a competitor he is, that he wanted to play. That as much success that he had in this league, that he probably felt that he should play. But it never [got uncomfortable]. And as I said, he always was so helpful to me. And I felt it was genuine, and I commend him for that."

Romo was probably only there when he had to be and I don't blame him- a lot of these reporters don't seem to get that these guys have families and do things in their own time,

Romo has, what, three kids? And a wife. I doubt he was itching to hang out with the fellas more than he had to. I am sure he was respectful when there and a good mentor, but if Sanchez and Moore don't have young children at home, you can't really compare.

I used to hang out with people from work more- I had a baby, and soon will have a daughter. I am doing exactly everything I need to do my job well, but my priorities change. Hanging out and going home whenever I feel like it isn't in the cards! I have other obligations now.

He's wrong about a whole bunch of things...He's constantly wrong about players. He's been wrong for years as a scout and admits it. He's wrong more than not as a reporter. When you are wrong this much, why is he still employed in football? Most jobs you are wrong that much, you get canned and quick.

Yet he had a long career as a scout in the NFL and also has a super Bowl ring.

Strange for a dude that sucks about everything apparently.

Like I said, he is wrong plenty. But people on this messageboard acting like he knows nothing about the NFL or the draft is just being foolish.

I actually enjoy listening to him on the podcasts too and the draft show. Although he does ramble at times. So obviously they keep him around for a reason.

What is the context of this? Was this in response to a question or something someone said? What precipitated this comment?

Is Romo the one responsible for Parcells firing Broaddus and no team being interested in him as a scout?

Why should I care if this is true or not?

Because...someday someone is going to write your revisionist history...and you want to make sure they get it right.

Funny how the 2016 narritive for TR is already being re-written. And it's only taken 3 short years. I can't even imagine what vile stench the media will spin this...in a decade.

TR was all class as he left....yet some people will spin this as him being racial. That's how the media has been playing things lately...can't tell me nobody has noticed.

Lmao, right? Why would he be in meetings with a broken back?

Also:

All of that, and Tony should have been playing anyways. I wouldn't have blamed Tony if he retired in week 10 or whatever.

Facts tend to get in the way of agendas!

The media's going to spin it to be racial?

I'm still waiting for you to explain how you came to the conclusion Jerry was just signing Dak to sell tickets to black people. I should've screenshot that dumb ****.

False. Romo is constantly brought up by our fanbase. For some reason, he has this big mythical legacy and is bigger in their minds than he actually was.

But anyways, this is common knowledge. And other players have spoke on it. Romo and Witten were not leaders. At all. They isolated themselves from the rest of the team and were selfish as could be. Romo especially. T.O. spoke on how Romo and Witten would do this but because it was him, people dismissed it. Martellus spoke on Witten as well.

This whole myth that Romo really helped Dak in 2016 is laughable. He didn't care about this team if he wasn't playing. When he finally knew he was not going to get his job back, that attention seeker took it upon himself to actually write some letter to Dak and handing him the job. It was nothing but self absorbed junk. Good riddance to Romo. Dak is an actually a leader the team rallies around. Romo had none of that.
It was 3 years ago.

I don't care.

I've moved on.

Brian Broaddus did not help any personnel department he every worked in.

That's why Parcells fired him, and why he's now Mickey Spagnola's waterboy.
That is factually incorrect.. Broadus has a Superbowl ring as a team scout

So do one billion other people. Scouts drip from the ceiling like rain.

It's comical how wrong he's been over the years about so many first-round picks he's slobbered all over. He's throwing darts in the dark just like us.

Ehh factually incorrect again... Team scouts get paid to perform a job by the team..."a billion" other people do not...and definitely don't get Superbowl rings

Just say you don't like the guy... don't **** on his resume

You can tell the fans here who are patching holes they made in drywall anytime someone tells the truth about Romo.

But here's the thing. It's not just a team, it's a competition. I can't blame Romo for not helping. But lets not start bashing Broaddus for things not even related to this story. All you had to do is see it for yourself. Some on TV, but at games I saw Romo NOT helping Prescott and Sanchez was always helping. That's how bad Romo wanted to compete.
I would much rather Romo help than note, but who cares?
It shows the class Prescott has for not throwing him under the bus and giving praise to Romo regardless.
