IMO Jaylon is the most talented player on the Cowboys but does not get the credit for everything that he does for the defense. He literally has no weaknesses....he's excellent against the run, in coverage, in space, pass rushing, great tackler, leadership and signature big play celebration lol. We are going to have to pay for his skill set at some point. Thoughts?

And I'd also like to see some measure of thanks for him getting paid while he didn't play, and some measure of loyalty to the team for taking the risk that he could return from that injury.

Who knows how far he would have fallen had the Cowboys not stopped his slide? That should count for something.

easy NO..IMO he hasn't done anything yet to deserve even top 5 money..look hes great story, great person, and really good players but his impact here isnt the same as it is nationally...too many really good LBs in the League, given 3 starters on each team and look at the top10 best LBs still playing..so no..

Before those starting the Byron Jones pay scale, answer also NO!.. Neither has done enough to warrant a ridiculous payday.. IMO I like these players But we have bigger decisions to make with Zeke, Amari, and Dak right now.those dudes can play on FT or whatever until we get the NOW decsions sorted out..If anyone owes the Cowboys hometown discount, its him, they were patient took huge risk drafting his high and let him come along..hes getting better and hasn't peaked but hes nowhere near sniffing elite money IMO

If he is stronger than last year he is going to be very good. Not sure about Lawrence Taylor good but he has all the traits.

No way he's the best.

He is very good, but still has lateral movement issues if he can't "see, plant, sprint". He's gets off balance a bit too often while being blocked or engaged.

He's come a long way but honestly I don't think he will ever likely hit 100%. But 85% of Jaylon Smith's ability surpasses all but a handful of LB'ers in the NFL.

I still don't think he was 100 percent last year.
I think he will be 100 percent this year, and we'll see the best he has to offer.
As for being the highest paid linebacker in the game, that's not my call. But I don't think the Cowboys are going to let him walk.
Having said that, this roster is loaded. Anything less than an NFC Championship appearance should send Garrett packing.

I don't think he's the best on this team. I'd take LVE all day over Jaylon.
