He has literally zero. Players for the most part hold out for two reasons

1. There playing way under market value
and
2. They have no future protection money wise (usually goes hand in hand with #1).

Problem with Zeke is

1. Despite his deal being 3 years old he's still top 3 for his position in both fully guranteed and total guranteed money
and
2. Next year is already protected for injury. He gets a career ending injury this year he will of made almost 35 million dollars and only had to play 2 full NFL seasons........


Love Zeke and want him to stay but he literally has Zero leverage for a holdout.

Thing that bothers me most about Zeke holding out? The Cowboys really stood behind him during that tough stretch leading up to his suspension. Jerry really put his Rep on the line in support of a young man who really didn't have a lot of positive press coverage associated with his behavior.

In a vacuum, Zeke would be foolish not to exhaust any form of leverage to maximize his earning as an elite RB in a league where life expectancy is quite slim. We can't always look at things in a vacuum, though, can we.

I don't see why everyone is bent out of shape. He's still under contract. If he sits out the year, he simply extends for another year his obligation to the Cowboys.

Zeke was bad in the playoff loss to the Rams. Maybe he’s concerned that he has already peaked and wants to get paid before that is confirmed by the team. Zeke has been ridden hard the last 3 seasons. All the more reason why Jerry should wait till the offseason to extend him.

Sorry but got to disagree with you. Not just any back can run in the NFL even if they have a good OL. It takes special talent and Zeke has it. If we lost Zeke because of a holdout we go 8-8 if we are lucky.

We are really debating over something that I don't think is going to happen. Zeke will not hold out and all will be good. Good thing is we won't have to wait long to find out.

Zeke didn't break long runs at an elite level. He didn't force missed tackles at an elite level. He didn't catch the ball down field at an elite level.

What makes him elite? A great OL and huge volume?

Yeah I Didn't understand the whole "fake news" talk. When there's talk of a holdout its not some fake news a lot of times its true. I understand why Zeke wants to do it. I'm down with trading him if it means not paying him.
