That's not leadership.
What is it called then?

And we all witnessed how successful LB was last year, hopefully the younger guys are not following his lead as it was a losers game where the house won.
He was very successful. Steelers sucked and Bell gave his body a year to heal and ended up getting paid. A victory.

Uhhhhhhh, nope.
When you have two years left on a contract you signed , it shows NO leadership hold out.

With that being said. Seek will be there tomorrow. The national media loves a Cowboys story ..: This is fake news
It shows you are holding out for your worth and not letting the unions misfortunes own you. Use the little leverage you have in this league.

Trying to get yours. I have no problem w/ that, BTW, but it's not leadership.

Nothing is bigger than the Cowboys...

Zeke is doing nothing but hurting the team and the fans.

He’s a selfish POS, and I hope he does get run into the ground with nothing to show for it...

...?...Is that before or after they win a Superbowl!?...

Demarco played strong for a couple of seasons, but he was nowhere near Zeke in talent. It also took him a few years to become that player. I dont think they set a precedent with Murray. He's simply not the same player.
So leading the league in rushing, being run into the ground and then having the team low ball a guy who just had 2 straight 1000 yard season with the last being 1845 yards, 1st all pro and some MVP votes, AP Offensive Player of the year, doesn’t give the next RB pause when running himself into the ground?

Of course it does. If Zeke holds out it’s not for more money. It’s for a long term commitment. I won’t blame him at all. I would do the same if i were him. Not asking for more money in the next 2 years. But I want more years and I’m not waiting until I give you 800 more touches to get it. You’ve seen my play. Make a decision now if you want more years of it.

Its bigger than just his teammates. What Leveon Bell did didn't benefit him. It benefited those that come after him. These players have to get it through the owners head that they aren't going to let you run them into the ground and not be properly paid for.It doesn't help the Cowboys but this battle is bigger than the Cowboys.

You do realize that there is a salary cap with a floor and a ceiling, right? Say what you will about JJ the owner, but he never hits the floor and he always rolls extra space into next year.

Whatever incremental dollars Zeke may get are dollars that are not available for the other guys on the team. If he holds out, it’s about his paycheck, not to benefit some other player.

The cowboys FO only has themselves to blame.
They thought they were so cute with Demarco Murray.
They showed their cards so Zeke May now being playing his cards.

sucks for us fans if true.

That’s a really good point.

I’m really not mad at Zeke if he has decided to hold out. He’s got more leverage than almost any RB in recent memory. This is partially Dallas’ fault for not having a viable backup plan in place. He knows that his path to a big contract has many chances to go wrong due to injury, over usage, or suspension. Even if he gets a big contract after year 5, is he going to get 5 years and a huge bonus with his career workload? Of course not.

My only argument is with those who see this as anything more than a money grab.

It's always about the money, years and committment make no difference if they get the $$$ they want, as for the Cowboys there is no need to make a decision now they have him under contract for 2 more years plus at least one franchise tag (the 2nd may be a little too pricey, but that too is there). Zeke is pushing now for a deal but in my opinion he would be in a much stronger position if he waited until next season to hold out and it's really not like he is being that under payed he was the 4th overall pick and his deal was for 4 years and approx 24m (6m per year average) and with the 5th year option it is 34m over 5 years (almost 7m per season) it's not like he was the 28th overall pick (where the $$$ are a quarter of what he got) he has been payed fairly

Paid, but less than the Steelers offered so at the end of the day a good amt less $ but more rested. Rather have the $ to be honest at that young age.

Not talking about benefiting players on this team. Thinking shortsighted.

It is amazing to me that some people think Zeke should give a crap about his teammates. Seriously. In your profession, would you voluntarily put yourself in a bad position, and elect to be underpaid, because it might help the people you work with?

Hell no. The reason we work is to make money for ourselves and establish or maintain financial security for ourselves. Just cause Zeke plays a sport, doesn't mean his job isn't a job. Like any of us, he is absolutely right to demand what he's worth--it's his future, his family, his life on the line.

Thats fair. The difference though, I never had the impression we were going to re sign Demarco. Jerry has said all along Zeke is going to get paid.

That said, words and actions are two different things. Had Zeke waited one more year Id be on his side. This only bothers me because off the field he continues to put in self in bad situations. That and having two years left under contract. Ultimately I think we re sign him.

He does which is why he's holding out. He's doing it for those after him just like LEveon Bell before him. Something has to change.
What has to change is Zeke needs to grow up and learn to be a man. $25 million is enough incentive to go to work.

I’m sure his father moved to Ohio State because Zeke was a child and wanted to keep him in check. Something a real father does.
Huh?

Both my daughters moved 2,000 miles away in their early 20's. I never felt the need to follow them and "keep them in check". I worried about them each day and still do, even though both are established and professionals.

That's what a real father does? What a silly statement. A real father teaches their children right from wrong, is there when they need a shoulder to cry on or a big hug for something they accomplished, to let them know how loved they are everyday, to show respect, politeness, manners, etc. I could go on and on. If Zeke;s father felt the need to follow his son and live with him that's cool. But to say that makes him a real father? Far from it..

Just like the dez haters, people are just waiting to jump on Zeke for anything, and no matter how little or big the issue may be.

I guess training camp is going to be all about will he or won't he show up?

He's going to show up. Dallas has all the leverage here.

If for some strange reason he doesn't show up then I look forward to watching Dak playwithout Zeke and we can properly pay Dak what he is worth after that.
