In the grand scheme of things, the way Zeke has been used and his performance on how he's been used hasn't helped us win games. At least not in 2018.

Is there an argument that another OC could lend to Zeke helping us win games? Absolutely.

But am I willing to shell out the biggest RB contract to an RB who had more fumbles than rushing TDs and didn't help us win games last year? Hell no.

BOOM!!! This should silence the Dak critics.

So all a guy has to do is hold out and you will pay him anything he wants? Not any kind of way to run a franchise.

Hes got two years left on his contract and hes in his prime. His value will never be greater. If he is truly going to miss games, then let him. Trade him when you can get a windfall.

Zeke actually has little leverage. He has two years left on his rookie deal and then two years of franchising. By then it would be year #7 and he will be toast. Go out and get another quality back in next years draft.
Not anything he wants. Why frame someone elses position in a way that is so divisive?
Pay him like the best RB in the league if the team believes he is.

Now is when he has the most leverage.
Doesn't mean he has absolute power but in the current CBA this is as good of a time as any from a leverage perspective. Right before camp when its hardest to replace him.

No, but their contracts are up after this season. Zeke's is not. Zeke needs to pipe down and instead show up and do his job this year.
Why does he need to do that?

The other players play a position where waiting 4-5 years for a 2nd contract doesnt hurt their value. Zeke plays a position where a 7 year vet is considered 1 year from expiration. So I don't blame a RB who produced what Zeke has from telling the team to give him his 2nd contract after year 3. The RB position is unique in this way. Let's not pretend reality is the same for a RB as it is for a QB or WR.

Stephen Jones will not allow Jerry to extend Zeke right now when Zeke has 2 more years left under current contract.

I think Zekes leverage would be even greater prior to next season. If he plays to his level and has a quite off season he will probably get a fat contract.

The only real argument against him is whether or not he can stay out of trouble.

Provided he walks the line it would be a huge value to extend him now. The only question I have is does the front office trust him?

I’m really looking forward to see how Dak elevates this offense without Elliott since the leagues leading rusher isn’t helping this bottom tier passing offense .

I saw someone even state Elliott wasn’t helping us win games . Lol

This is going to be fun:)

Actually at his age it’s smarter to extend him now than 2 or 3 years down the road.

Why does Zeke, his parents, and his agent all disagree with you?
They may know a little more than we do about this kind of thing?

They can disagree all they want. It would be bad business and set a bad precedent to extend Zeke right now even though he still has 2 years left on his rookie contract.

But next season he is 1 year closer to this "wall" the Cowboys admitted they believe RB's hit. They used this as justification to not sign Demarco Murray.
Plus lets say he has a down year... If he has an awesome year it will still hurt him because father time can't be beat.

Highest leverage is today and its not even close.

Didn't stop Wentz or Gurley from signing after 3 years.
Both teams have been to the superbowl way more recently than we have.

So Basically when there are 9 men fronts . . . Dak can Dink and Dunk. . . cool story

Foolish statement.

Stephen has already said they've budgeted for a Zeke extension. This is simply about the sides agreeing on numbers. Has nothing to do with your silly two years left theory.

Elliott isn’t any guy. He’s the core of our offense.

Are we really ready to sign Dak and see what he does this year without Elliott?
Only good that can come from that is the enjoyment of watching all the Daksters jumping off a Cliff
