Jerry brought this upon himself and he finally met his match. Want to draft a high quality diva player with character issues, you got it. Like attention? You got it...since draft day with Zeke.

Enjoy Jerrah! Even though we all know you will cave, better hope it doesn’t come back to bite you or you will look like the fool yet again.

Thanks, ‘No C’. The thing is that you haven’t clarified anything. Quite the contrary, if you mean to suggest that Jerry’s words aren’t worth reacting to. Jerry is clearly issuing Zeke a warning. Wait your turn. We don’t need you as much as you seem to think.

Yeah I think you're right. Jerry knows what's he's saying. Wonder how long this goes.

A restricted free agent. Cowboys could tender him and another team would have to pay a draft pick to sign him. If they tendered him at first round pick, it'd be unlikely he gets much of a market. This is what he'd be avoiding if he showed up by August 6th.

I think we basically agree but let's step through the next scenario.

What if:

2019
No Show all season.

2020
Already under contract due to 5th year option.
RFA issue over-ridden by 5th year option.

He decides to report & play 2020 season.

March 2021
He has accrued 4 seasons (2016-2018 & 2020).
He is a free agent (unless franchised).

Note: He probably owes the team for 1/4 of signing bonus for not playing in 2019.

No. I can say I wouldn't tell my son, who has been suspended, should have been suspended another time and is not always doing things that are in the best interest of the team or himself, he should spit in the face of the person that has been standing by his side. And the QB hasn't been paid 30 million. On this team, Zeke has made 21 Million in his first 3 years (7 per year average), stands to make 3.8 million this year and 9 million next so in his first 5 years he will make 33 million (6.6 per year) or in the top 10 of current RBs. Underpaid, yes, drastically underpaid, NO. When you look at Dak, he is drastically under paid when you compare him to his peers and yet, he is in Camp. I don't think he is a great QB but he is doing the right thing and is showing he is a good leader. Unlike Zeke who is just being selfish and is pouting because someone makes more money than he does.
Don't you agree that the QB position is one that they can't hold out? No QB has tested that yet for good reason and if Dak did, he'd be testing his endorsement deals as well. Bad for a QB's image to hold out.

Plus there's that 4th pick compared to that 4th rounder to consider.

I think if a player is willing to take the hit for a no show as Bell did last year, have at it. The difference is our RB is doing this to our team, so we care. But I really don't care, I don't care if he holds out of camp or the entire season. I would rather have him in the offense but I am not going to fret over this at all, it's just doesn't matter except it's a fun topic to discuss.

How they know this......hell Stephen's already negotiated half of the contract thru the media. The rest shouldn't be that hard other than structure and/or guarantee payout. Interestingly, Jax is in a similar predicament with Ramsey wanting a new deal also but I read they told agent flat out he WOULD NOT get a new contract this year nor would there any new negotiation. I'm guessing he was also warned of fines if didn't report to TC on time. Well, Stephen took a different route with Zeke by not negotiating but made an offer. Zeke is holding out but Ramsey is in camp......similar situations handled entirely different.
Exactly correct.. SJ told the world that the opening offer was what the over paid gurly got.. And would go up from there. If I had to guess the opening offer was gurly money with the pot sweetened a little. Maybe they are mulling it over and he a went to cabo to train. I have no idea how bayless knew that they wanted ay more. I can say that if SJ did what he said and they are wanting 17 a year then I let him sit and fine him.

If he is a no show then how does he get the season acrewed. How does this season count of he don't show up. And by the way if he shows up for game 12 then I don't let him in the locker room. I trade him to a team that's gonna draft high and get a #1 and a #2. No need for 2 number 1s.. Just take him. He will likely get in trouble again by then anyways.. Trade him before he has to much time and drink.

I only care about the players that are in camp. Deadlines make deals.

If he is a no show then how does he get the season accrued?

In that scenario he skips 2019 but plays in 2020.
(see the red text in my previous post)

Accrued seasons would be 2016-2018 & 2020.

Not likely to happen but I'm just stepping through simple scenarios to see where the other poster and I agree or disagree.

No, if he does not show up this year, next year his 4th year of his deal repeats because he did not report by week 11, and his fifth year option is moved to 2021, which was your original point

oh but he will tell you he has regardless of how wrong he is and then tells you, you're stupid for not seeing things his way then blocks you. Meanwhile, his hand is permanently bruised from patting himself on the back when hes ever got something right.

To be totally honest, I'll have to admit that this thing with Zeke has really taken the wind out of my sails to a degree. It's just a bad time for the team that he would choose to distance himself from them when it's so crucial to get familiarized with the changes that Kellen Moore is trying to establish.

Here's hoping he'll choose to respect that need and places more responsibility on himself for being attentive to it. Seems to me that his carrying on an extended holdout could have a devastating effect on a team that's at a crossroad to prove itself more competitive. I wonder how many others here share my dismay with regards to this thing. Here's hoping he'll wisely return in time to prevent the damage that might ensue if he doesn't.

Common man, it ain´t as easy as that, Zeke is one of the best backs in the NFL, it`s not only about speed, it`s vision, intelligence, QB protection etc..
Saying that, I still believe this will get resolved, no way he misses the opener.

Your underestimating the run blocking of our line along with Pollards burst & speed. Zeke isn't the only RB that knows how to run. We have the road grader Frederick in the middle. Our OL is gonna dominate.
