You can't forget the emergence of Devonte Adams and Jordy Nelson. Part of what may have seemed mediocrity may have been a changing role because those guys were studs that took a lot of his targets away, and likely changed the kinds of targets he got.Cobb's ypt fell off a cliff from 2015 on. Mediocre since then. That's better evidence for him being washed up than some anecdotes from the first week of camp. He's ours now. 4mil guaranteed. He'd have to be abysmal for us to cut him.
But let's have perspective here. During the minicamp, Cobb got rave reviews for his connection to Dak. Which decidedly was not in evidence in that INT.
So we've gotten varying reports on Cobb. We've got weeks to find out what he is. And if he's absolutely awful, or if we've got young guys we can't give up, we can eat his 4mil guaranteed. We did it with Carroll.

LMAO! And people were saying he is an upgrade from Beasley. Were gonna see about that!
I wonder if Beasley is reading about this with a big grin on his face?
Really, you guys should know this by now. Cobb used to have a QB who could hit a dime from 35 yards and now he has a QB who would be hard
pressed to hit the side of a barn. No wonder he's having issues.
Wasn’t there glowing reports earlier about him
Lewis is the 2nd best corner on the team. Richard is just an idiot. Put Cobb against brown or chido and he would have more successHe’s okay when the ball is actually in his hands. But, at this point he is really struggling to get any separation. Lewis is destroying him every single time. He has no burst in his get off and looks stiff. I hate to say it but maybe he’s washed up?
I would trade byron tbh and draft a cb maybe one with better ball skills. We need playmakers in the secondary not athletes.IF Lewis is that much better...don't be shocked if we let Byron walk. Food for thought.
This stat is misused.Makes sense considering the average amount a player lasts in the NFL is 2 or 3 years
Yeah except Cobb wasn’t very good last year with Rodgers. His problems aren’t the quarterback. Btw, the quarterback he wanted to play with.

He hasn't done that since 2015.My expectation for Cobb is to put up TWill kind of numbers. If he does that at WR3, the Cowboys will be fine.
40-45 receptions, 700-750 yards, 4-5 TD's.
This stat is misused.
That stat is due to all the guys that are barely good enough to be in the league and might stick to a team for one year or so before the next draft comes along. It's all the 6/7 round picks and undrafted free agents. Two to 3 years is not the average for guys who are talented.
The stat shows the turnover at the bottom of rosters, not that people have short careers because of health or aging.
Im 100% ok with thisThere is not doubt that Byron will have to walk if we do indeed back up the Brinks truck for Zeke. You can't pay them all.
