I think one must also realize that not every play is designed for Cobb. Against some defensive sets, a curl or any other route will be open for a completion. Against another defensive set, the curl is expected to be covered to pull a defender and allow another route to be open. It’s not about a superhuman receiver winning on every route. Offenses aren’t designed that way. You cannot just watch one guy on every play and think he should be open....progressions begin with the guy most likely to be open, the guy the play should work best for versus a particular D.
