I guess I don't understand why someone like Zeke wouldn't honor the remaining deal left on the table? Especially after the support the Jerry has shown him through all of his idiocy. Another caveat here is the fact that Zeke is already a rich man and this does become about greed and the lack of honor. Look how Amari Cooper is handling things in a similar situation! Zeke's actions are only shining a negative light on him and honestly it's to be expected. I personally think his actions have proved that he is basically just a time bomb waiting to go off at some point and probably not worth the headache. Hopefully this all goes away quickly, but i like the way the team is handing it in terms of next man up even though us fans aren't settled about it.

Good for Zeke. He should get his money while he can.

Unfortunately for Zeke, "his money" amounts to around 35 million. He's not owed any more than that. I don't concern myself with what's good for Zeke, I focus solely on what's good for the Cowboys. Paying him a year earlier than normal could set a bad precedent for the future. It could also cause problems with other players currently on the team in their last year of their contract. So the Cowboys front office pretty much has to hold their ground here. If Zeke holds out all season he's not hurting anyone but himself and the team and their chances this year.

And you like to trump it up to support an otherwise poor case. If they can't beat those bottom feeders, they're not a contender anyway. Zeke or no Zeke.

This "irreplaceable" myth is just that, a myth.
You are the one using the language like "irreplaceable". Look at the number of close games every year - even against bottom of the barrel teams. The case is supported, you just have to be willing to look from a different perspective.

I'm actually okay if Zeke does holdout into the season, we'll get to finally see if Dak is good enough to carry the team.

Yeah I get the economics and in theory I agree. The timing and mechanics are terrible though. I'd encourage and support a league-wide strike before a guy with 2 years remaining and a ton of baggage holding his team hostage.
At least you are recognizing that there are market issues at play here - it's more than just a spoiled player (even though there is likely some of that, too).

It's foolish to not get the 5 or whatever it is million this year. He can skip this season miss out on 5 million but must show up next year if he wants to become a FA. It's foolish.
But yes he should try to get a bigger contract. I don't think what he's doing right now is foolish. But sitting out this season would be dumb.
I happen to agree with you about sitting out the season, but I understand the point of view from Zeke's camp is what I'm saying. It's a calculated risk right now.

They didn't "miss him" when they never had him, when they were making running backs like Murray and Randle/McFadden.

The investment has been made up front. By extension, running back should be the position where you can go light and still have success. You shouldn't have to heavily invest in a star running back if you have a top offensive line. That was exactly the point made when people were saying drafting Elliott at #4 overall was a luxury and not a necessity.
Whatever, I was a lineman and i know what stud backs mean to an OL. Consistency and not flash in the pan guys.

Your issue is with the NFL then, and how running backs are paid. Take it up with them.

Running back committees are winning Super Bowls, not workhorse backs.
Im saying this new gen of RBs will make some changes via CBA but why the NFL ? RBs like Bell and Zeke are going to force some change in that thought process, Gurley Got paid didnt he , are the Rams and Gurley not part of the nfl? those thoughts may work for 75% of RBs but like Elite players in General they arent just Rs, they are elite players who deserve better money and contracts..if you didnt want to pay them , dont draft them so high, once you do and they perform elite, they will all be asking for new money..
