One of the very best features of this great site is the ability to put posters on "ignore" and get rid of the white noise.

It's not something you need often, but it really parses down the site to what's interesting, relevant and conversational, while getting rid of the simpletons and riff-raff from your feed. It sharpens your experience here and eliminates the time waste of going back and forth with the clueless and meandering know-nothings.

I highly recommend it. I've got about 12 on ignore, some of them from forever ago that I'm not even sure are still here. I use it sparingly.

I don't recommend using it just because of a spirited debate that gets testy or even personal, then cools off later and gets back to meaningful football discussion. It's just the internet, and who cares about that stuff. We all get a little overly passionate at times about the Cowboys.

I'm referring to those useless fence-posts who never add anything to any conversation, and don't have the football acumen to be worth your time or thought process. You know the kind.

If you haven't already, tailor the site the way you want it before the season starts. Makes for a much better season all the way around.

I have quite a few in ignore.
I can put up with even the most negative and always negative posters, though at times I want to put them on ignore. But I do not as they have their opinions as I have mine. We got into many disagreements and sometimes I agree with them.

But what I do not like and when I use the ignore button are the ones that start the insults and will not let up. Give a few and I give a few back. But when they get downright hateful they go on ignore.

Sometimes after a few months or a year I will remove them from the list. Sometimes they go back on it. Some will never come off of it.
Several have been on it 4 or 5 times.

I don't ignore anyone, I think its silly to be that closed off to people who don't fall in line with your thinking

If that was what it was about, I'd have a lot more than 10 on my list. It's not about that at all.

Wise beyond your years Erod, and you are what now, about a 112?

Do NOT call out any specific users either directly or indirectly!

Oh, and I forgot to mention, this feature also makes life much easier for the moderators.

(You're welcome, Reality.)
