He has to know himself the window is now. He don’t care as much about getting a ring as he does a contract that’s not due to him till at least after this season. Witten came back because he felt this team had a real shot. I bet he is beyond mad.
The window is now for the Cowboys, not Zeke. Zeke can go to hell if he thinks he can hold this season ransom.

I wonder how vets feel seeing Zeke hold out with 2 years left on a rookie deal, after he got a check that was more than the salary of ANY vet at his position, before he even sobered up from his Ohio State summer kegger.

You’re irritated with him after sportingly agreeing to 2 franchise tags and being a good teammate throughout the entire process?

I get we are fans but at some point, these athletes have to do what they have to do for themselves. We weren’t exactly feeling sorry for murray In 2014 when we used him up and refused to sign him to a longer deal. It’s a double standard
I was. No double standard here.

2 franchise tags are enough for your grandkids kids to retire on. He made a fortune. For some reason, players have this belief that the franchise tags are bad when they most certainly are not.

I'm irritated w/ DLaw for refusing to get needed surgury, and for all the hoopla and such he threw around and for insisting on a contract that paid him more than he was worth(Opinion). I like him as a player, but I believe his contract may be one of the ones that comes back on us.

Like just posted in another thread .........his body is worth $1M per game, current salary is just over $200K per game. What would you do?

Elliot watching D-Law hold out on surgery for a contract could give him a idea. And D-Law and his filthy agent was wrong but at least he didn’t do it 3 years into his 4 year rookie deal.

I hope this team goes to the playoffs without him and look great. Elliot tries to come back to collect a ring and JJ says no thanks. And you will also sit next year also.
Yeah, but if he shows up, he gets paid.

I think that’s kind of what our FO is trying. But we would both have to admit that Elliot will make a huge difference. Which is another reason I am so mad. I think they actually give the big baby a contract before the season starts. And it’s gonna send a bad message to the young players. Who isn’t next LVE holding out in 2 more years.

I focus on and support the players who are playing.

I do not care if players hold out as that is their business, but until he returns, I view him just like I would an injured player.
Except he shot himself in the foot. There is no honor in that.

Make my 3 mil, add it to the 20 something mil I"ve already made, make my 9 mil next season, take the 15 mil from the franchise tag, hope they tag me again for around 20 mil, and be very very happy.

Yeah but if I am JJ the billionaire then I will throw him his little scrap. And the next time he gets drunk and does something dumb I let him sink for it. Can you tell I am bitter.

Fredbeard and DLaw( I think) .........their support for him was obvious. Take care of business was their response

The holdout is a new piece of information. It would be surprising if people didn’t adjust their view of Zeke in response to that information.

Me too. But the thing for me is that I never expected him to play the option year. And I don’t think the FO did either. But I and they did expect him to honor the rookie 4 year. They were putting together a nice contract for him . Next year.

I really don't care. I like the game more than any one player so I root for the ones on the field.

I don't blame fans for being upset, but I also don't blame fans for being okay with it as well.

For me, I treat every player not on the field as injured and move on until they return. Does not matter if they are injured, holding out for a new contract or dealing with family responsibilities.

In the meantime, maybe we can find something special in the other players and if not, at least we know we can keep looking.
