I understand negotiations and i am sure his agent is getting more than 6%. Don't care if he is holding out or not, he doesn't deserve top 5 QB pay. I will clarify to say Zeke deserves top 5 pay but it should come after this season. We can not have these top heavy contracts to where we can't build a team around them.

This old dude wouldn't care if Dak made a $100 million a year if there was no salary cap, but there is one and I have seen us in salary cap hell.
Well when you have ownership that needs puppets as coaches you will need an all star team to have a chance to win.
Teams often have to let high paid players walk away. The Ravens just watched CJ Mosely walk. The Patriots watched DE Jones walk (or be traded).
You can't afford to pay everyone top dollar and by looking at the roster we have way too many guys who are super talented that will demand huge pay.

It makes you realize how poor of a coaching job has been happening when you have so many guys playing so well and you still have nothing to show for it.
This won't change. If JG was fired another puppet would take his place tomorrow.

So we will have Jaylon Smith, Dak, Zeke, Cooper, B Jones soon asking for top pay. Which guys do we let walk?

For an old guy like me it's hard to understand how earning 25 mill a season, 50 mil guaranteed or so is taking one for the team.

Needing to make more than the other guy or be the highest paid is pure ego driven greed.
Maybe.... But if you can get $20M per season and you take $15M and you play for 8 years you just left $40M dollars on the table. Do you not know family members who this money could change their lives forever? Wouldn't you feel something when the team you just let keep this $40 million turns around and hands it to some Sammy Watkins bum?

They both are being greedy by demanding top position pay, and we all know it. Enough with coddling them, making excuses for them or blaming the owners. This team of talent can not continue to stay intact if ownership goes on paying each top talent as the highest in the league according to their position. We all know this to be true. It takes a team of talent to yearly make the playoffs and make some noise once there, and the only way that is going to happen is if the top talent is willing to sacrifice a little in order to pitch in in order to afford to keep a bigger core of talent together for as long as possible. This won't be possible if the top talent is suddenly seeking top league position pay. We all know it.

What bothers all of us is their contract demands tell us about their desire for a championship, or lack thereof.
They just want to grab every dollar even though they know there is a cap limit.
They know their demands really hurt the chances of a championship because there is a limit to what tricks can be played with the cap.

D Law the same

A team gets its personality from the HC and he’s all about

Mediocrity
Good enough
Get yours
Clap
Spit

Why’re we surprised?

There’s no guarantees they’ll win a championship if they take less money.

This is a business first. Fans get so caught up in winning they forget the business at hand.

Cowboys will dump him with no loyalty first chance they get or an injury could cut short his career.

I think its safe to say that all these punks care about is money. Here is one fan that hopes the owners put them in their place during the next agreement. I would welcome a shut down if it meant these stupid salaries cease.

Neither do Jerry and Stephen, so they fit right in.

This is a stupid thread.
If Zeke became the highest paid RB in nfl history today he would still make less than guys named Xavien Howard and Sammy Watkins.

He would make less than Jason Pierre Paul.

Now we have these old dudes attacking our own players because the players
want to paid at the level of their production and talent.

Players dont get paid for their talent level. They get paid for production and what their position is worth.

If Elliot is not happy about what a RB gets these days he should have trained for QB.

It’s tough. Money talks. I’m as big a Cowboys fan as anyone but if I was offered a 20% increase in my income with the stipulation that it may decrease the Cowboys’ chance at a championship, sorry fellas but I’m taking the $ :)
