I can see part of what you say. But I think it matters a lot if the QB is good because of the talent around him or vice versa when it comes to handing over a $100MM+ contract.
Well that's a different conversation.

Dak really has to work on the the touch on that pass to the right.

He misses a lot to open receivers deep to the right

To the left is far better

Dak Prescott plays this season under his original contract he's betting on himself that he has a great season and they will have to pay him. I call that confidence. Some will call that stupid take the money now before you embarrass yourself. There's always a different side lol

Pollard = Dunbar. Same speed with a little more size.

He actually does seem to be better at throwing down the left side. Is it a timing thing I don't know but all quarterbacks have a favorite slide Troy Aikman love that Crown in the field

The fact Elliott is holding out adds a layer to this.

Dak has a chance, if Elliott is out early, to prove that he can succeed without him.

For some reason I find it highly unlikely that Elliott doesn't get an extension.

I don't know.

The Jones can sure dig in on issues. I think, at this point, Zeke not being here opening day is at least 50-50.

Just a hunch. When this story broke I thought they drafted RBs for insurance, but I don't think any of the RBs on our roster are going to be a sufficient replacement.

Pollard smoked Jaylon. Nice move. Could catch defenses looking run and get the mismatch with the linebacker.

Jaylon got beat being too slow on flipping his hips.

I was impressed to see LVE almost keeping up with Pollard. Pollard is too fast and too good a receiver for teams to leave anyone but the fastest LBs on him. If we get Pollard isolated wide on a LB without help over the top, we should take that all day.

So now its gone from a TON to a BUNCH. Keep going. Let me know when it gets to A FEW. Which it was.

On at least one miss we saw where Gallup hesitated on his route on the replay.
Sorry, I should have been more precise. I remember at least six. Six where Gallup clearly had beat his man and would have a TD if caught. And the pass wasn't even close. Let's hope it improves with training camp reps.

Agreed. If we can get Pollard going on the ground forcing teams to bring in a run package then we can take advantage of the matchup. Or we run a hurryup forcing the opponent to keep their run package on the field.

Your thoughs on Jaylon made me rewatch that and ya it does seem like he struggles with the direction changes that require him to turn his hips. Hope other teams don't notice.

Almost all of his problems deep right in 2018 were with Gallup as the target.

QB Rating deep passes all receivers:
Deep Left: 88
Deep Middle: 158
Deep Right: 87

QB Rating deep passes Gallup:
Deep Left: 86
Deep Middle: 119
Deep Right: 40

QB Rating deep right other targets:
Cooper: 135
Jarwin: 149
Hurns: 96

Sorry, I will need to see it before I buy in. I think he has a chance to be pretty good.
But this hype machine on him brings up so many red flags. Especially the part about Jones thinking he can carry a starter's workload. Ridiculous.

If we're being honest here, I think JJ has spoken about RB by committee more times than he has suggested Pollard will just replace EE.

You are talking about the front office that convinced themselves a WR corps headed by Allen Hurns and Cole Beasley would be good enough.

So yeah, I think they may look at their running back situation and think they can get by.

That's not the same set of circumstances.

Yah, Im going to say it was 4 or 5 and clearly on at least one it was Gallups fault. Im not going to make a big deal out of a rookie WR and his QB missing a few passes.

The smart thing to do . Is game plan for Elliott not being here. Not like the second season when we had no clue week-to-week. I would love for him to be here but that's beside the point

I don't know what what point they decided to go for Cooper. I can't put heads or tails on this organization drives me crazy
