For the record (again) I think Zeke is a great player. His maturity level and this holdout though have turned me into a seller of Zeke. That said I wish there was no cap and they could sign him. Unfortunately there is a cap and the 2020 off season is going to be loaded with others that need to be signed. RBs do not equal championships!

After watching Pollard last night has your opinion of the Zeke situation changed at all?

Also please don’t beat up on Morris. The Cowboys OL backups suck. They really, really suck.

Thanks in advance for your opinions.

Right now , I'm on the fence about it.......................If this were his final year on the rookie contract , I'd be on Zeke's side without question ; that it's not really makes me view Elliott as a "me-1st" guy , just looking to get paid even though his off-field issues are worrisome , too............................

Hasn’t changed one bit, only reinforced my thoughts. Fine Zeke, trade Zeke, or let him sit and pout like the entitled bully brat he is. Roll with Pollard/Morris and draft a RB next year.

Pollard’s definitely quick into the hole, runs downfield and he doesn’t appear to need much space to operate. He’s a player. Woulda liked to have seen him, and the rest of our staters, against the Rams starting D, though.

I don’t think Pollard’s putting any real pressure on Zeke, but I’m still in the camp that believes Zeke will be there in game one.

Nope the Rams didn’t play 20 of their starters, I think it’s silly to try and make an argument to not pay Zeke based on a series or 2 in the preseason.
Although I totally agree and understand what you're saying . you still have to make the read the right decision I like the young kid. No comment on Elliot

Pollard has done nothing in a nfl game

Zeke is the best running back in football

We need zeke pollard should spell him and we can easily rush for 2000
Zeke could easily be the best running back in football but right now he's not even third

Sign him at all cost will ruin the team long term and show the whole staff that the front office is weak.

If you let a player who has a top 5 gurantteed contract for his position bully with with 2 full years left on the deal you've basically told everybody's agent that your weak and desperate.

Extension would be fine but I doubt Zeke wants to be the highest paid 3 years from now, he probably wants a re-work of his current top 5 deal which you should not do in a million years

Not in the least has it changed.

If Pollard can translate this ability to the real games, that is exciting.

But with Zeke, that has a potential, with the starting OL, to make this the best offense in the game.

This is not a zero sum game.

Watching the pre season highlights of other teams, this years RB class looks really good. Maybe we got a steal with Pollard, he runs through arm tackles, has very good vision, accelerates quickly, and is a good receiver. He just needs to work on the blitz pickup.

What will be interesting is those who want to see Pollard in a real game may get your wish in Game 1 which will be against the Giants who may have a worse D than the Rams second stringers. Say he has a great game, then what? Then on to Washington which will certainly be an upgrade over the Giants defense but we don’t really know how they will be, then we go to Miami who sucks all around.

Between our O line and the first 3 teams we face, there’s a good chance Pollard will have good games in all 3. I’ll be very curious to hear what people have to say if that happens.

I will add that Pollard is quick. You can see it. He also runs hard between the tackles. I do not believe he can do it 20-25 times over 16 games. I do believe he can do it 15 times. So basically you need to find someone to bang it in there 10 times. Morris can do that.

Boys giving Zeke a max contract will be a mistake. Maybe not in 2019. But 2021 it will be an albatross.

Who’s better?

Saquon?
Zeke averaged more yards per game rushing and overall(rushing/receiving) over a larger sample size.

Same with McCaffrey and Kamara.

How so, we were slightly below average last year. I like your optimism and it’s a serious question, I think we will definitely be better but best in the game?!

Having Fred back and Cobb won’t change it that much. I guess you could argue Moore will be our savior, he certainly has to be an upgrade from Linehan but I doubt enough to make that much of a difference.

Yeah, don’t even mention the Giants had one of the worst O lines in the league for the first half of the season and IIRC Barkley led the league in time between handoff and first contact, meaning he had the least amount of time to do anything.

Zeke gets excuses if we have one or two O linemen go down, Barkley had an entire O line of which all but one would be back ups for the Cowboys and that is never considered a factor when comparing him to Zeke. Funny how that works. Hell, even some of our back ups were better than their starters.
