Zeke is a special talent. He knows it. And so does everyone else. We don't have the coaching staff the Patriots have. Nor do we have the QB. So what do we have?

We have Zeke. He commands attention on the field of play like no other RB in the NFL.

Am I confused? Or is this about something else?

Watching Pollard run last night should give EVERY Cowboys fan a good feeling. Knowing that if Zeke the moron gets suspended or holds out, that we have a capable backup. Or at least a guy that can spell Zeke if he comes back. It also gives us better leverage to bargain with Zeke for less money.

After all, only the biggest of trolls would wish that Zeke would get paid as much as he wants. The less he gets, the more we have to spend on other players. Same logic the trolls use with Dak.

The problem is the Cowboys are going to have to gain that respect again in the run game if Zeke doesn't play. Until our OL and Pollard proves they can hurt a defense, they'll be paying more attention to the pass. Play action won't be as effective either. That said, I'm not going to worry about Zeke either way. I really don't care if he doesn't show up. If the Cowboys can't function without an elite RB then they have more problems to worry about than Zeke.

Agreed on that. I think as long as the Oline is completely healthy with all 3 studs then this offense will hum. A good RB like Pollard can be very effective, and Dak and passing game will thrive.

Its when you have injuries and poor play of the Oline where Zeke is more of a consistent necessity.

We have a good Oline, great recievers, modern new OC and one of the best young/clutch leaders in the NFL at QB. And apparently we have a weapon in Pollard.

It would be great to have Zeke, but this offense is maturing to the point where its not a necessity to pay him crazy money and put up with his antics.

Pollard looks good. Even if it was against a backup defense, that has nothing to do with the quickness I saw him run through that hole. I was impressed. Zeke is a luxury and Dallas may be without him for some time. As far as his antics go, what has he really done that is so inconsistent with many kids in the early to mid 20s? His only fault is that he's high profile and has to know he's being watched much more. I would say that most NFL players aren't even recognized in public.

For the record (again) I think Zeke is a great player. His maturity level and this holdout though have turned me into a seller of Zeke. That said I wish there was no cap and they could sign him. Unfortunately there is a cap and the 2020 off season is going to be loaded with others that need to be signed. RBs do not equal championships!

After watching Pollard last night has your opinion of the Zeke situation changed at all?

Also please don’t beat up on Morris. The Cowboys OL backups suck. They really, really suck.

Thanks in advance for your opinions.

They cut Allen Hurns.

Saved 5 million.

There is plenty of room in the cap for Zeke.

It will be a 4 years, 60-70 million $$$.

So you want to pay Zeke about 17 per with 2 years left on his contract? Makes zero sense. Kiss 2-3 good players good bye to do that. Plus imagine giving Zeke big guaranteed money? Almost guaranteed suspension in 12 months.

Zeke is welcome to rejoin the family anytime he wishes to, but he must withdrawal his new salary demands and play under his current contract. We will need him later in the season when we get closer to the playoffs. If he returns to be a mentor to this young Pollard kid, in another year he'll get his new big contract if he stays out of trouble.

ok , im confident the Cowboys will sign Zeke and Zeke will take the offer.

However, its a great time for Zeke to sign elsewhere and help another team get to where the Cowboys refuse to go.

Is this about money or being a winner. we ll find out soon enough.

He's under contract. He can't sign anywhere else for the next 2 years.

I'm seriously OK w/ that.
So, if he’s not what we hoped he is , then what? We start over with another QB?

Instead of trying to make it work with what we have which we know is getting pretty close. A team that can contend now.

I just don’t get that. All to be tough on managing the Cap but giving up on our best opportunity to win now.

As long as you’re prepared to start over again unless we find that new stud QB.

I think this comes down to how much you believe in Dak.

I've seen both good and bad from Dak, and I'm still iffy. Thing is, if he's the guy, we need to find out now. Immediately.

I’m just not willing to sacrifice this season. And our immediate future.

We can sign Elliott now. Put Dak off until next year. And Cooper too. Possibly even use the Tag next year on him.

This window with this core is only a couple more years anyway. Our OL is already aging and getting beat up and our key stars on defense will need new contracts in a couple years.

The Future is Now.
