I will say this about Dak, I think this year will be different, I think you’re going to see a very well rounded QB and he will be able to take pressure off the RB, and it should be Zeke.
We have heard that the entire offseason until the media showed up and said Dak looked the same as in years past.

Yeah that's one narrative. Another one is that he's been getting an unnecessarily high amount of carries because of the outdated scheme, which has crippled the development of the passing game. Oh, and on top of that the outdated scheme didn't work very well last year. Time to try something different, and when Dak and these new receivers finally get the chance to shine, I think they might suprise us.
The pass game is crippled because Dallas is starting a QB that lacks basic QB skills.

Here is a list of the last 5 Super Bowl champions. All used a running back by committee approach.

2018: New England Patriots
2017: Philadelphia Eagles
2016: New England Patriots
2015: Denver Broncos
2014: New England Patriots

There's a reason why nobody is paying running backs in this league anymore. They are falling out of trees. Your offensive line is what matters and the Cowboys have a lot of money and salary cap room tied up in that group. It makes no sense to commit to a big contract for them. And yes, it may be pre-season, but Pollard and run just fine through those holes and he can catch the ball out of the backfield as well.

P.S. Dak is 9 for 9 so far this pre-season.

All teams game plan to stop the run. The run game is the engine of this O, not the back. Teams will still have to put the extra guy down because 7 in the box will get ate up with morris or pollard running the ball. Since 2014, this team has 1K rushers almost every year, with 3 different backs. This OL is pretty good and I think we will be just fine with or without Zeke

You can't honestly believe teams gameplan the same way for Alfred Morris or Tony Pollard as they do Zeke Elliott. It sounds like the possibility of Zeke missing games is becoming so real that you are trying to talk yourself into thinking that the offense will produce comparably without Zeke.

And you said he was. But you reply to someone saying he is a top 3 running back. You know what now I just find a post that topic boring with an agenda

So I said he was a top 3 back. What then did I say after that was contradictory?

If you have any thoughts that Pollard will be able to replace Zeke.
I WAS a Zeke fan but the way he spit right in the face of JJ after what JJ did for him and the $$$ JJ paid out to help Zeke out, I would rather have Pollard. If I was JJ I would sue that little punk fore EVERY penny of them legal fee's!

News for you, ill-informed. The Cowboys already have a 4th round pick carrying them through the season. His name is Dak Prescott. Have you not seen the Cowboys starting offense move the ball down the field this preseason? They are looking real good without Zeke. Scared?
Preseason. One drive. The drive did look good no doubt... but again, preseason. Dont understand how scared can be confused with realistic. When the regular season comes and that 1st game intensity hits then that will be a better gauge compared to now...

Paying Zeke the big bucks for blocking? Now that's fool-aid!
All we need is to go get a rb who is good at blocking. Then we won't have to pay Zeke.
Not just blocking but all around... his running and receiving as well. He has excellent awareness. Some of this fan base really suffers from amnesia.

A lot of these guys don’t take into consideration that every game that Zeke plays in, he will be the main focus of the opposing defense. Defenses key in on Zeke and dares Dak to beat them. They are not going to do the same for Pollard or any other RB on the roster. Imagine the epic failures in games that would occur when the entire defense goes after Dak. It would be ugly without Zeke taking away the pressure from Dak. I can’t think of another team that depends on a RB more than the Cowboys and guys around here thinks defenses would give their full attention to any RB that Dallas would put back there. In spite of defenses keying in on him every game, Zeke still leads the league in rushing and is very productive on a game by game basis.
