I agree but I don't think Christion has cemented a PS spot yet from his whopping couple of snaps. It could be one of them or someone else entirely.

It does seem odd they are not at least letting him play late in these games. There has been some speculation that they really like him and are trying to groom him ala Taysom Hill.

That is some serious hype, I would be surprised. He was used as an up-man on one of the late kickoffs though. Maybe he is the next Showers.

At least they tried. Before White (excepting Prescott) they had not drafted a QB since Stanback in '07.

I don't really count Stanback as an attempt at a QB. He was immediately a gadget player/WR.

After the first round (and even then to an extent), most teams luck into any quarterbacks they draft who turn out to be starters or even quality backups.

He's actually regressed. He was coming on near the end of last preseason and looked like the game was slowing down for him. Now, he just looks lost.

White has the best arm talent on the team. He’s just not good at processing NFL defenses. It’s hard to evaluate from schools like Western Kentucky.

And White wasn't drafted to be a backup? How can you justify saying White proves they can't develop a QB when they clearly did develop Dak?

Taryn Christion is going to be the new Jamiel Showers of the practice squad.
i believe Showers' PS eligibility is up, and they need their usual mobile QB for the scout team.
there won't be a 3rd QB competition.
.. and I've been so discouraged by Mike White that I have no interest in him being a part of the eventual practice squad.

Dak showed he can play in the NFL from pre season game 1,we cannot say that about any QB the cowboys drafted in more than a decade.people who want to dump Dak think its easy for us to draft a QB but that is a path we should not take.

Not odd to me. They wanted to get an extensive look at Rush and White because they intend to only keep 2 QBs and need to know which of the two to keep. They've apparently seen enough of White to make that decision.

In the end it doesn't matter. All these QBs suck. Rayne may actually be the best of the group and he can't even throw an out route.

I have to say I have been very disappointed in White this pre season. The kid has the arm talent but like I have said before, it takes more than an arm to be a good NFL QB and white just hasn't developed that yet, maybe he never will. I like the kids talent but I can't justify keeping him on the 53. I wish we could take his arm and put it on Dak though.
