Meaningless to say it is between Gurley and Bell.

How is it between them? That's the better question.

Bell and Gurley differ in terms of average salary by a mere 1.5 mill (that's 6 million total over the deal). That's chump change over the course of this extension. Also recall that the extension will keep Zeke under contract for SIX more years.

The real issue with those two deal is guaranteed money. Gurley has 45 mill guaranteed and Bell only 27. That's gotta be where the real issue is.

Zeke is lucky they are willing to do this at all.

I disagree with him being paid like that when they have him for 2 more seasons plus a franchise tag if they want it.
I agree. He has knucklehead syndrome to boot.

I thought we had learned. So disappointed.

Offering a player who has had off field issues 3/3 offseasons, who has been inefficient the last two seasons, had more fumbles than rushing TDs last season $13.5M+ a year, while playing the least important position in football, with two years left on his contract?

Un*******believable

Wouldn't you have said that after that Smith pc? Wasn't Booger the man to stand his ground? What a joke, starts posturing about players not taking what's offered and then offers more within 48 hours. Anyone think this is a take it or leave it offer? Guess Booger's not so in love with Pollard, after all?

I think if this is real money and not funny money, he will take it because he doesn't really want to not be with the team. I think this has been really hard on him and according to Pollard, he's been staying in touch with the RB's and evidently, he and Garrett have stayed in contact.

Some have put a black hat on him, as Booger tried to do in that pc, but I think he's an immature young man and I think his Dad and agent have been the ones helping him hold steady and not give in.

I think both sides use negotiation tactic that is why I don't read much into what either side has to say. The deal will get done when it is done.

Do I like that he's holding out? Obviously, No. But I think he has a legit case for doing so.

He's been the best RB in the league for 3 years now. Should have 3 consecutive rushing titles.

RB's careers don't last as long as other positions. This is a fact.

When you're a RB who's been the best in the league for your entire career, and probably only has a max of 5? 6? years of peak performance left, if that, you deserve to get paid.

RB's get screwed in this league.

Every other NFL player has to pay their dues and make it through their rookie scale contract. Is Zeke special?

Granted RB's can have a shorter career. However, that isn't the fault of the NFL. That's just the facts of life. He could have chosen to play any position. Its not like he is being paid chump change. Zekes effective income this year is 6 million. Next year his base would be 9 million. If he wasn't such an idiot and an embarrassment he would getting supplemental income from commercials and promotions.

He should take it. Texas has no state taxes, California does. I'd be curious to see the numbers, but I'd bet it is really really close. Couple that with incentives, it may even exceed TG's deal.

Dude. You know that just means higher sales taxes, municipal taxes, and property taxes to account for the lack of a state tax right?

Maybe because everyone knows he has way outplayed that contract?

100% agree.......structure and guaranteed money. In fact, wouldn't be a bit surprised if he's signed this time next week.

I agree, I have said from the get go I expect a deal to be done. I'm not going to choose sides I know both are doing what is in their interest. Like it or not this is a business. I admit I sometimes hate the business side of the game but it is what it is.

I don’t think he takes the offer. I really believe he wants to be the highest paid but hope I am wrong.
I hope you are wrong too and will call you out on that!!! I agree, I can handle the money part of it but the ego part? Not so much.
