It was reported that Zeke stated in January, that he would not play without a new contract. Why didn't management get in front of this nonsense at that time? This has nothing to do with Dak, Cooper, or any other player. The lines of communication should have been opened at that time.

Who says they didnt ?

There are 2 needed for a contract.

Lets see it this way: the FO was willing to give him a new contract. Zeke didnt want it. He wanted more. So the FO knew since januar that he was going to hold out. Why do you think we drafted 2 RBs ? The FO prepeared well for the time without him.

Well they should not act surprised nor offended that this is happening.

You are replaceable. That's ok because I am too, the good Lord gave LeBron, Brady, Rodgers skills that allow them to set there salaries. I'm no hater and I dont compare my job with theirs because no matter how great we are at our jobs there's millions of people that can do our jobs without much fall off. If there was not then I'd be holding out for more money.
And there is no saying that Pollard can't do Zeke's job until the season starts. After all wasn't Brady a 6th round pick? Dak a 4th rounder? Many other players at different positions that were late round picks thrive and became stars. Zeke is just being a greedy punk. I was one of the people supporting him during the suspension battle but now that he has shown who he really is....pffft

Come on you know they have to take their family vacations. They aren't even in the building the first week of free agency every year.

I didnt support him through the suspension battle because I felt he did something. I support him now because the NFL is trying to devalue a position that is still valuable if you're special.

I like the fact that JJ and everyone else in the league wants to convince everyone that you dont need a top rb to win in the NFL. I agree with this only if you have an elite qb or an elite defense which the cowboys dont have.

You have people on both sides of the debate is Zeke work the money or not. The answer is are the Cowboys going to offer him more if that's the case then he's worth it

No Doubt Zeke should be paid but he SHOULD at least play out his 4th year and then get his $$$. It has nothing to do with him getting paid and it has everything to do with the way he is doing it!

Who says that they were going to pay him after his fourth year. Zeke saw how they did Murray and wanted no part of that.

And Murray proved he was not worth the $$$ the Eagles paid out. JJ offered a fair contract considering Murray had on 1 healthy season!

It's unlikely that the Cowboys would be signing a contract now if Zeke wasn't as valuable to their season as he is.

Either that, or it surely didn't take Marshall Faulk very long to make Ezekiel puke!! I guess he'd had enough, huh? :muttley:

Murray cannot be compared to Zeke. He chased money knowing it was a bad fit.

Not dictate, but if there is a loophole in the agreement, why not extort your perceived findings.
Because that’s a sneaky, d-bag way of doing things and nobody respects you when you do that. Zeke the Sneak.

It's not a loophole. Zeke is refusing to honor his word.

Honor his word?

You know rookies have no say how long their contracts are or even the value for the most part? His word was to sign a pre determined contract which makes him eligible for negotiation and/or the right to hold out after 3 seasons.

The owners shouldn’t have agreed to put in the right for players to negotiate a new deal and/or hold out after 3 seasons.

I have no problem with Zeke's holdout. This is a business. Please do not use the tired, "If you did that at your job, you would be fired" bit. The NFL is for entertainment. I suppose you have no problem with other entertainers, when they sneak.
