Maybe Luck was genuinely contemplating his future and Irsay didn't know which direction he would go in? Thats my take on the coaches statement about needing to know by preseason game 3. I thought that was weird at the time, but it makes sense now. At the time I figured if Luck is healthy the day before the game you freaking play him. Pretty sure now he was trying to figure out if he needed to be preparing JB completely and not wasting his time with Luck.
